About

Winter grew up in the northern parts of the world. It wasn't an odd occurrence to see her wandering about with just a dress and a light shawl on, even though her neighbors thought of it as a dangerious venture considering how cold it could get. However, Winter's favorite part was watching the Polar Bears walk through the town she lived in. She just found them to be such beautiful creatures, though she knew that they considered her kind to be food.

One day, Winter was walking around the outskirts of town, when she saw an injured Polar Bear cub. She ran over to it and picked it up so that she could bring it back to her house. Even though it could kill her, she thought of nothing but helping it.

As she nursed it back to health, she ended up developing a bond with the cub. It grew to such a point that she ended up hugging the cub as she slept, though she did note that the cub didn't seem to mind. Winter had been alone for so long that she had attached herself to the animal, going so far as to call it her only friend.

After a few months, Winter knew that she had to let the cub go, even if she didn't want to. Thus, both she and the cub left her house so that the cub could return to its family. They were approaching the area where Winter found her friend, when they saw a different polar bear. It seemed like another bear had claimed the territory, and considering it was standing up on its hind legs, it wasn't very happy that they were there. When the bear charged at them, Winter didn't even think; she threw herself in front of her friend, and the bear bit into her shoulder, throwing her off to the side with a motion of its head.

As she hit the snow, she noticed a dying polar bear nearby. With the last of her strength, she managed to drag herself over to it, and as she collapsed, she felt the bear lick her face gently. Winter closed her eyes, and fell unconcious due to blood loss.

Little did she know, that the bear she had been next to was the mother of her friend. Having seen the way that Winter had thrown herself inbetween the attacking bear and her child, the mother bear decided to bless the girl who had nearly given her life to save another.

As Winter started to grow ears and a tail, the mother bear passed away, knowing that her child was in good hands.

When Winter woke up, she noticed that her head felt slightly different, but she didn't dwell on that fact for long, as she remembered that her friend was in danger. However, as she looked around, she saw that the other polar bear was gone, leaving behind her friend, the dead polar bear, and herself.

She ran over to her friend, checking it for injuries, and sighed in relief when she saw none. Having decided that she had faced enough danger for the day, she nudged her friend and headed home.
