Sly and charismatic, Rook uses his natural charm to swindle and steal, only to move on from the area before anyone can realise what's happened. He hides a past of mystery behind sly wit, though he can struggle to get a hold on emotions, anger occasionally cracking through his collected surface.
Tragedy struck Rook young, losing both his parents when he was only 9 years old. Discontent with life at the orphanage, he soon fled, and circumstance found him being taken in by a temple and trained in martial arts, where he met his then-best friend, Cyrin. They trained together, which is where Rook learned his skills in fighting.
He's had multiple curses placed on him throughout his life, beginning with the curse placed on his right arm when he was 17. Another placed on him at 24, by a shapeshifting beast, that causes Rook to experience overwhelming emotion, in which the shapeshifter speaks telepathically to him. If this state lingers too long, Rook flies into an uncontrollable rage, harming and potentially killing others for no real reason until he calms. Rook was cursed by a witch at 25 with a beast form that only shows itself when he experiences extreme sorrow, though considering he tries to keep to himself, it's rarely seen. Finally, he was hexxed with immortality at age 27.
Rook's committed countless crimes across the land, to the point multiple places have his face plastered everywhere in the form of wanted posters. He travels by pirate ship, the crew being the only people he really talks to anymore.
Rook's best friend! They share a lot of interests and like to nerd out over mythological creatures together. He usually buys 2 copies of books, one for him, one for Rook. As he's deaf, Rook learned sign language just to chat with him. Rook would protect Bernard with his life.
Rook's childhood best friend. Cyrin was incredibly bitter about being outclassed by Rook growing up. They fought, and never really made up. Cyrin resents Rook, and Rook couldn't care less, though he has no problem acting cocky if Cyrin gives him a hard time.
