s heir to the daylight kingdom of Solis, Astair takes great care to hide any emotions behind a smooth and collected exterior. He is the shining image of a prince, elegant, reserved, and regal.
He seeks to take down the traitorous knight whom he suspects is responsible for the growing dangers that surround his kingdom — and learn the truth.

✤ Demeanour
Astair presents himself with a detached, calm - even charming at times - exterior. On the inside, he is actually quite an emotional person, but represses nearly everything he feels in an effort to retain the perfection he strives for. A prince shouldn’t get angry, nor should he laugh unceremoniously, and God forbid he were ever to cry— these are all tenets he has deeply internalised to a fault. This only causes his stronger emotions to fester, and oftentimes his facade can crack.
His temper and general disdain is what seeps out most times, oft manifesting in passive-aggressive comments and glares. These remain quite subtle, though,— unless someone is really getting on his nerves.

✤ Appearance
Astair stands decently tall, and can be taken as an imposing presence at times — though his status as a prince is the biggest reason for this. He is quite often seen wearing deep blue. To most, he has an elegant sort of beauty to him, but it feels more like the cold beauty of a marble statue — one meticulously carved into a placid state that feels more unreachable than attractive.

Caspian and Astair share a wildly antagonistic dynamic for the most part. Caspian’s insolent, cocky personality is entirely at odds with everything Astair abides by— and he’s certain that man knows just how frustrating he is, and does it on purpose. Of all the things Caspian does to set him off, the worst offence is probably treating him like a person. Astair isn’t used to being challenged - talked back to, spoken to as though he was an equal and not above everyone else - and the unfamiliarity aggravates and frightens him. He’s a prince, for heaven’s sake, it’s completely disrespectful, isn’t it?!
To boot, Caspian has secretly been a traitor to the kingdom, only working to aid the looming threat of the kingdom’s downfall. Astair has caught onto this, and stands squarely in the way of his mission. The two of them have resolved that this can only end by one of them killing the other, but unfortunately for the both of them, they need each other alive for their respective agendas — for now. To keep up appearances the two usually feign a vague friendship when they aren’t alone, but ironically, despite their hatred of one another, they're the only ones they can really let down their facades around.

Astair and his younger sister don’t exactly have the best sibling relationship. He cares for her deeply, but he more often than not treats her more akin to a colleague than a sister. Through the thick haze of his own deeply ingrained emotional repression, he simply doesn’t know how to act like a brother or express the fact that he holds her in high regard — and seeing her withdraw from him because she thinks he doesn’t care makes him deeply sad. He assumes she doesn't want him near anyway, only making things worse. The distance between them is only worsened by the fact that their parents not only encourage his distant nature, but seemed to care far more about him than Briar, being the oldest and the one set to inherit the kingdom.
