The golden star among the silver, the starry knight that breaks the day.
✤ Introduction
riginally hailing from the moonlight kingdom of Noctera, Caspian has been knighted to the royals of Solis as an act of goodwill and allyship between kingdoms, given the odd increasing threat of monsters. This was only a ploy, though - the truth is he was sent over with a mysterious task to betray the kingdom and facilitate its fall.
Caspian usually has an irritatingly smug and flippant air to him - and despite a little hesitation, he’s pretty confident he’ll manage to get the job done successfully… eventually.

✤ Demeanour
Towards most, Caspian acts cocky, brash, and just generally insufferable. He’s most often seen with a smarmy grin plastered on his face, and enjoys getting people flustered or riled up on purpose, mainly because he just thinks it’s funny. He’s quite popular in his kingdom as head knight of Noctera — many find him charming, having a bit of a flirtatious streak, but to those who know him personally, his antics often only serve to irritate people. He’s also somewhat of a thrill-seeker, making impulsive decisions for the sake of adrenaline and fun, regardless of the consequences.
His comportment is partly an over-correction for his deep seated fear of vulnerability and never being good enough — and the way it keeps most people at an arm's length doesn't exactly help. He can also be surprisingly sensitive to others, and can be a reliable shoulder to cry on if need be.

✤ Appearance
Caspian's striking white hair and fur tends to make him stand out among the others in his kingdom, if his status as head knight and notoriety didn't do that already. He often wears his gold armour even off-duty, as some sort of way to upkeep his knight persona. Outside of that, he tends to wear loose clothes in white, red, or gold. His tailtip is fluffier than most other nocturids.

- Caspian's herald is named Caliburn.
- He is not very well liked by the other knights of his kingdom for reasons aside from his personality - seeing as he was taken in and made a knight by Queen Ambrose herself, he's given preferential treatment and is the head knight, despite not having worked as hard or being as good as the others.
- Caspian has a splashed palomino horse named Majesty.

Caspian and Astair share a wildly antagonistic dynamic for the most part. Despite often coming off full of himself, one thing Caspian can’t stand is people who wholeheartedly act superior to others. Especially when it’s in that charming, ingratiating fake-nice way that really grinds his gears. He resents Astair’s smooth yet haughty demeanour, the unspoken sense of superiority he holds — and the effort he makes to appear so stoic, as though even simple emotions were beneath him. He likes to annoy and provoke him in order to make him see his own fallibility in that regard — and also, it's just fun.
To boot, Caspian has secretly been a traitor to the kingdom, only working to aid the looming threat of the kingdom’s downfall. Astair has caught onto this, and stands squarely in the way of his mission. The two of them have resolved that this can only end by one of them killing the other, but unfortunately for the both of them, they need each other alive for their respective agendas — for now. To keep up appearances the two usually feign a vague friendship when they aren’t alone, but ironically, despite their hatred of one another, they're the only ones they can really let down their facades around.

Ambrose took Caspian in when he was pretty young, and she’s been the closest thing he had to family ever since. At first her looking after him came from a place of genuine fondness, but over time she grew to be amused at having a starry-eyed kid idolise her so much, willing to do anything for her. Thinking him useful, she kept him around as her knight-slash-lapdog when she ascended to the Noctera throne after the king retired.
Over time, she’s learned to take advantage of his eagerness to please, using him to do any dirty work she doesn't want her name attached to. Caspian doesn't exactly realise that he’s been manipulated and isolated by her all this time— all he knows is that he wants to make her proud. It's the least he can do.

While distant and neutral towards each other at first, Caspian took notice that not only did Briar not seem nearly as stuck up as the rest of the royals, but she seemed to be quite sad, being overlooked most of the time. She reminded him a lot of himself, and Caspian reached out to her kindly out of genuine empathy.
Despite having the same royal upbringing as Astair, Briar hasn’t internalised the whole “royal perfection” ordeal nearly as wholly as her brother, and the two get along well, sharing a similar mischievous nature and goofing off together. In a way, he seems to fill the older brother role for her that Astair left empty.
