Being the younger brother to a world class neurosurgeon can present its challenges, especially when there is an unspoken pressure to uphold the family’s reputation. Being born into a family where they were known for their specialised traps for Grizzco, Egon’s interest in science and tinkering was nurtured early on, and it was decided that he would be the one to take over the family business. However, Egon’s family were inevitably setting themselves up for disappointment, as the urchin had different plans for his future.

Though he doesn’t talk about it, Egon went through school with relative ease, even finishing a few years earlier than intended and going into university when he was barely in his teens. This would prove to be a double-edged sword, for even though Egon would prove to be incredibly diligent with his education, his social skills and ability to make friends would suffer. The general maturity difference between Egon and the students notably older than him would prove to be alienating, leaving Egon’s time in the educational system to be some of the worst years of his life.

Once Egon obtained his degrees, the urchin was left with a big gap in his routine, leaving him confused and more lost than ever. His niche qualifications left him with a very specific set of skills which weren’t appropriate for many jobs, and his lack of social ability left Egon with little to no success with finding work to pass the time. However, whether it be fate or just blind luck, Egon received word of a state of the art research facility looking a talented scientist, and the qualifications they were searching for matched his near perfectly. Left with limited options, Egon decided to try his chances and apply.

Going into the interview, Egon was reunited with an associate from his university days, and the pair hit it off so well that Egon landed the job. With their intellect, creativity, and resourcefulness combined, Egon and his associate would go on to become leading scientists in their field.

When Egon isn't researching or writing papers, he finds himself spending a lot of time with his colleague Spencer, most notably at the diner where Spencer's older brother runs a notorious biker gang. Egon has found himself posing as the Dungeon Master for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign that he's running for the gang, and it's one of the few ways that this urchin has been able to teach himself how to interact and express his emotions.

In doing so, Egon has found himself harbouring feelings for Spencer that he has little to no understanding of. And no matter how many calculations he does, or beakers he fills with liquid, this talented prodigy's mind can't simply comprehend any viable reason as to why the inkling's mere presence is enough to make Egon feel okay.

• Discovered an environmentally friendly compound that reduces the time that substances take to decompose. With his colleague's help, Egon was able to develop a chemical which could be used to break down plastics
• Alongside Maddox and SIGMA, developed a breeding program that increases the reproduction rates of zapfish, to decrease the amount of electricity required from the Great Zapfish. Spencer currently helps Egon maintain this program
• Has been published in many scientific journals several times, and is seen as the best Nanotechnology Specialist in his field
• Is currently helping develop a self recharging battery which relies on nanobots to repair and maintain the battery's status
