Lighthearted. Cryptic. Mischievous. Haseuk is a schemer that likes to mess with others under the guise of being a playful trickster. He comes off as an annoying jokester with a penchant for teasing-- though this seems to be a cover for his much more vindicative side.
The truth is that he's a bit of a merciless spirit who likes to manipulate others for his own gain, but tries to drop this habit to be a better person for those he cares about.
- Always has possession of his dreamcatcher. (Don't have to draw it tho!)
- Eyes are grey, and has pointed eyebrows***. Has a muscular build & larger frame than Vinny.
- His hair part learns towards his right, but you may swap sides if you're struggling with his hair! You may also draw him with his ponytail instead.
- Associated with spiderlilies, red wisteria, dreamcatchers, red threads, folklores, storybooks, worn away objects. Represented by a red cardinal.
Haseuk is a lorekeeper from the Agito tribe. While not much is known about them, what is known is that they pass many tales down through the generations. Haseuk himself seems to collect stories as he travels the world alongside his friends, earning him the title, "the Storyteller".
All he wishes to do is to travel the world with his partner, Vinny, and have a bit of fun. They grew up together as children, but were separated from each other shortly after. Upon reuniting, Haseuk found out the other had amnesia and struggles to cope with the idea of his savior and closest friend having forgotten him.
Having been born to one of the most prestigious families in one of the Nests, Haseuk had free choice to work in any of the Singularities. At the same time, however, he had a very cynical view of the world, which was only compounded upon even further with the bleak nature of The City.
Upon joining L Corp, Haseuk met a soul who held such grandiose dreams even in the face of overwhelming uncertainty and death. This gave him color in his life and the determination to find their happiness. Haseuk would go to any lengths for this happiness-- so when they were resurrected in The Library, he never once hesitated to turn a guest into a book for his own gain.
If he could have a say in it, Haseuk would prefer not being a Warrior of Light. While, yes, he does want to protect his friends and the world they enjoy adventuring in, he's watched his friends despair far too much to say that being a hero is rewarding.
Initially, Haseuk was on the run from the scions and his 'duty' as a Warrior of Light in favor of searching for his childhood friend, only to find out he'd been running away from what he was searching for. His childhood friend turned out to be Vinny, an established Warrior of Light and the only one who was able to catch Haseuk to drag him back to scions.
Haseuk is from the Agito tribe, a people who travel around collecting stories and are also known as the historians of the world. However, he wasn't born Agito, and he doesn't like talking about where he really came from.
At the same time, Haseuk used to be scary. Anyone who crossed him suddenly had misfortune fall on them, or were simply run out of townl he wasn't the goofy trickster that he is today. Most of the people in Indria remember him as a scarily manipulative but mostly mysterious individual who was often in a bad mood.
He had only become goofy & lighthearted after he met his travelling partner, Vinny, and so this is the only side that his partner knows about. Nowadays, Haseuk lightheartedly travels the lands with Vinny, simply wanting to enjoy his days at his companion's side. They enjoy the sights and new experiences, and Haseuk enjoys seeing Vinny so amazed by every little thing they see along the way.
...The truth is that the two are childhood friends, and Haseuk has been searching for Vinny for a very long time. Vinny saved him as a kid and steered him off a much darker path, but lost his memories of their time together. He keeps this a secret from Vinny out of fear that the memories might cause shock, or in the case that Vinny never regains his memories and rejects their past together due to his complicated personality and trauma.
While he hopes Vinny would one day remember... he tells himself he's happy with how things are for now. Instead, he dedicates himself to ensuring they could stay together, protecting his star from any further harm. He often sees his old self in Vinny, and wishes to give Vinny hope like he had to himself when they were younger. Haseuk also sees it as part of his duty to help Vinny achieve his dreams from when they were younger-- to travel and see the world together.
At the same time, Haseuk has also been a bit hurt by Vinny's absence. He's desperately afraid of being left behind again, and very protective over his partner. He has trouble appreciating the world on his own and sometimes slips into his old jaded habits, but is trying to improve himself for the sake of their relationship.
Haseuk knows that overcoming his issues, however, means he would have to face his lineage, which he's not quite ready for yet.

Vinny Reizss
Best friend & most trusted ally. Haseuk very clearly has both fond and complicated feelings for him, but hides them due to Vinny's memory loss.
"My shining star. I only wish that you would stay at my side now and forever."
Despite being the 'annoying' friend who always teases the other, Haseuk is acutely aware of Vinny's comfort zones, interests and every little quirk he has. He's very careful to never push Vinny too far while simultaneously somehow knowing exactly what his stoic partner is thinking. He's also fond of Vinny's innocent and innately kind nature, which is a stark contrast o his cynical self. As such, the two are very comfortable with each other and are practically inseparable.
Vinny has yet to regain his memories of the other, but is aware there are things Haseuk is hiding from him. This gap also makes Vinny question why Haseuk cares so much for him, but gets too flustered at the implications to ask.
Cihce Reizss
Great friends. Haseuk holds a great amount of respect for the intelligent inventor, and appreciates her goofiness as they often share the silly wavelength.
"Silly girl. She can be so bright yet so goofy at the same time."
Haseuk is one of Cihce's first friends, though they were originally business partners with the former gathering alchemy materials for the latter. Now, they're more comrades who adventure alongside each other at times and tend to have a goofy energy when together.
Because she knew Haseuk from before he and Vinny had reuinted, Cihce is one of the few who knows about Haseuk's true nature. When they had first met, Haseuk was actually rather cruel and indifferent to her, at least until she proved her talents and pure intents to him. And even then, the two of them didn't grow close until Vinny appeared to serve as a common bond between them.
Mhacha Ardbern
Comrades and good friends. Though Mhacha often lectures him for being so reckless and goofy all the time, Haseuk appreciates having a mom friend.
"As much as I tease her, I appreciate having at least one responsible person in our group."
Haseuk and Mhacha are trusted comrades, despite not knowing each other very long. Haseuk also likes teasing Mhacha due to how straightlaced she is, but it seems like they have a silent understanding for each other's sorrows.
Haseuk and Mhacha have a... complicated relationship. Their views on the world are completely different, and honestly they'd be enemies if it weren't for their common allies. As time went on, they got to know each other and found they actually had many similarities, and thus are able to trust each other much more.
Vinny Reizss
Best friend & romantic partner. Haseuk's shining star and the one who helps him keep going in the bleak reality of The City.
"Someone as naive as you can't possibly survive in this city. So, I'll burn it all down-- that you may stay beautifully fragile..."
In this world, Haseuk is much more forward and protective when it comes to Vinny. While he is used to being calloused in order to navigate The City's cruel rules of survival, Vinny isn't. The trials of working at Lobotomy Corporation and the tribulations they endured in The Library pushed them both to the edge of insanity. They could only find comfort in each other, and are much more romantically involved.
They are each other's anchors, and are much more willing to go to more depraved lengths for the other's sake.
Cihce Reizss
Trusted team members & friend. Haseuk respects how capable she is and would be one of the few souls he'd trust with his life.
"We are all looking for our happy ending, and you may be one of the few who deserve it."
Cihce is one of the most capable employees at Lobotomy Corporation, and is his beloved's sister by blood. While Haseuk's methods and brutality unnerve her, she still respects him as the one who watches out for her brother.
Mhacha Ardbern
Comrades and friends. Haseuk is surprised by her strong sense of justice, but is unable to understand it. He can, however, appreciate her methods and calculating nature.
"As much as I tease her, I appreciate having at least one responsible person in our group."
The two couldn't be any more different from each other. Mhacha's morals are a stark contrast to Haseuks which dips dangerously close to depravity. Haseuk sees her as hopeless, but as Vinny looks up to her because of her quest for virtue, he is forced to tolerate her patronizing ideals.
