Maia Hawke

Maia is a kindhearted girl with a playful, laid back personality. She sees the best in others and never hesitates to help those who need it. She often butts her head in other peoples problems to try and help them but clumsily ends up creating more problems instead. From a young age, Maia was sympathetic to those in need. She saw innocent people hurting and was eager to become strong enough to protect them. As soon as her magic abilities awakened she began training with her father as much as she could in order to better herself in the art of magic. She focused on trying to become a healer and honed her skills at every opportunity, starting with bumps and bruises her siblings got and then working her way up to healing broken limbs and gashes on the local soldiers.

Confident in her healing abilities up until Bethany's death, she saw her sisters death as her biggest failure. Upon settling down in Kirkwall Maia immersed herself in studying healing magic in the time she had between helping her friends and the other residents of Kirkwall. Her naievty and willingness to trust others caused her to get taken advantage of on many occasions. Maia immediately took interest in Anders upon meeting him. Drawn in by his selflessness and kindness for others, she began working with him towards the freedom of mages and studied under him to better her own healing magic. The two fell in love and Maia stayed with him through the years and through the destruction of the Chantry.
