Tristan was one of Katalina's closet friends and one of the first people she learned to trust when she was a knight. He was a huge influence on her and getting her to do the right thing. She took his death harder than she will truly admit to anyone. Not being able to save him would be one of her biggest regrets. Though knowing he is finally at peace and resting helps.

Fennec is one of Katalina's oldest friends. Sometime after their adventure together the pair went their separate ways. Katalina will write back to him whenever she can, and use the spell message to check up on him and his family once in awhile.
