Sapphidel

Sapphidel is the Mind Sentinel and, thus, rules over the Mind element. In some senses, she both represents and is the element of Mind, providing Mind magic to the world. She is also patron to students, monks, therapists and the mentally ill. In recent times, transgender individuals have claimed her and her fellow Sentinel Jaquara as their patron, as its their elements that are most often used in magical transitions. She doesn’t have a month that celebrates her, but rather in celebrated in the liminal spaces of the year: solstices, equinoxes and the first, middle and last day of the year.

Sapphidel is characterized as social and enigmatic. Her title comes from her drive to enlighten others and encourage others to better themselves.

An oddity among the Sentinels, she interacts with Saturnians more often in history, often using her powers to help. As a result, she is more revered than her fellows in some circles and even those that don’t follow the Sentinels may honor her in some respect. In history, she is known for meddling with her sibling Sentinels schemes, being the only one to feel regret at first for exiling Inketch. Later, she went on to speak for the Great Spirits to prevent them being killed. Some think this is why she doesn’t have a specific month and is forced to live in the liminal spaces of the year.

Sapphidel appears as a purple and pink cat with a forked tail, gems set in her body and a pair of blue-purple wings. Like the other Sentinels, she is depicted with a halo, hers a shifting rainbow circle of light. Unlike the other Sentinels, Sapphidel is referred nearly always as feminine.

Her sacred land is the now abandoned city of Sapphidel, which was built in her name and later found to have a connection with Mind-aligned individuals. It’s said she sleeps under the city and might even contribute to the weird effects inside the city.
