Professor Avalan Calamis

(Or just Ava or Cal, among friends.)

This excellent professor, is a master in the fields of frost and fire magic, but they are also quite gifted in magic in general.

They are incredibly kind and friendly, and thinks learning should be fun and exciting, but when exhausted, they have a tendency to be a bit snappy.

They are always cold, except when sitting in front of a fireplace with one of their flame familiars. This coldness affects rooms they stay in, so they are quite popular on very hot summer days!

... And less so on cold winter days...

They carry more than just a coldness, though... They have an air of melancholy and regret surrounding them, and seems plagued by... Something...

His past is a bit mysterious, but there are tales of an ancient, very gifted, but very cruel, wizard, who terrorised the lands he travelled in search of knowledge, destroying those unfortunate enough to stand in his way. It is said that his dark thirst for knowledge became his undoing, though, as he one day travelled to the top of a mountain, to slay a mighty frost dragon and gain its powers. The wizard never returned from the mountain, but the dragon was never seen again either.

Legend tells that the power of the dragon was too much for any mortal to have, and so the wizard was killed by his hubris, only to return as something... Different...

... Those are just old stories, though! And Professor Calamis is too kind to have such a dark past!
