Michiko is a student at UA high school and a future pro hero of Japan.

PERSONALITY

Michiko is a friendly and outgoing person. She's also free-spirited and likes doing what she wants, despite what anyone else thinks. She enjoys joking around and pulling little pranks on her friends. She's a really proud person and she just can't stand embarrassment. She's rather reckless and doesn't think long about important things. She hates making decisions and they put her under a lot of stress. When she’s nervous, she laughs a lot hysterically, trying to cover up her anxiety, with mixed results. She's very honorable and she never makes empty promises and she expects others to do the same. That’s why she often falls for scams.

She prefers being a part of a team rather than handling fights alone. She doesn’t like being the responsible one and if something goes wrong, she blames herself. She tends to procrastinate a lot with her assignments and then try to finish them all the day before they are due, which results in even more stress. She can be very grumpy, especially when she's tired or stressed. If she doesn’t agree with something, keeps grouching until people around her get mad at her. She feels really bad afterwards, because she can’t stand anyone, especially authority figures being mad at her and usually starts crying if someone is shouting at her or scolding her. She cares about her family and people around her way too much - she would mentally break if something bad happens to them and if any of them says something bad about her she keeps overthinking it and feels deeply hurt.

Michiko is really afraid of dogs. Whenever she sees one, no matter if it is a giant guard dog or just a puppy, she starts shaking. She avoids them as much as possible.

Michiko has her own quirks. She's quite superstitious - she always takes her lucky charms wherever she goes and she believes in a lot of superstitions. She can be overly dramatic about them and even scolds people who behave in a way that would bring them bad luck. She tends to chew her pencil when she’s thinking, without realizing it. It helps her focus on the tests.

She loves watching serials and films, especially romance comedies. She can lay down on her bed in front of her laptop and watch her favorite series, while eating popcorn. She starts fangirling every time a new episode of her favorite shows comes out or her ship sails.

Table tennis is Michiko's favorite sport. She used to play this game with her dad, when she was still in primary school. Now, she plays it with her friends whenever she has time to spare. She's pretty good at it, even without using her quirk. When she wants to show off, she tends to use ice particles as a ball that melts before her opponent gets a chance to hit it. Her other interests include watching motor racing and playing racing games. She’s really bad at them and anyone who sees her play them is sure to hope the day when she gets her driving license will never happen, but it makes her really happy and all fired up and ready for some competition.

QUIRK

Initiate resublimation reaction and turns steam from the air around her into small circular ice particles and then sends them flying towards her target or enemy. As the particles leave an invisible 1 meter radius area around her body and gain speed, they start to partially vaporize, releasing gas and dust, which quantity and harmfulness depends on the level of pollution of air around her, creating a tail of the miniature comets.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Ice particles' radius can't exceed 10 cm. However, they are usually way smaller, as their size depends on the amount of steam in her direct surroundings. The more particles she creates, the smaller they become. However, she can't control more than three at the same time. The miniature comets move at the speed a little bit faster than throwing a baseball ball.They move in a straight line by default and although she may change their trajectory, it requires a lot of focus and most of the time causes her to feel dizzy.

She can't control the direction of a comet's tail, as it is always pointing away from the Sun, and it requires a lot of calculation of masks not to let her allies be affected by the gas and the dust.

Overusing her quirk results in dizziness or even fainting. Her hands freeze more easily than they should in cold weather. What's more, due to the nature of her quirk she's prone to getting cold and on really hot days she can suffer from thermal shock by just using her quirk a bit.

Comet's usefulness depends on both the weather and air pollution level. In higher temperatures the ice particles may vaporize completely before they reach their targets. The smaller the distance the better. Michiko can't keep making comets forever. She's limited to the amount of steam in the air around her.

Alongside using steam, ice particles also absorb all the dust and air pollution within 1 m radius around her, which may be useful on a rescue mission as a barrier, however she can't hold it for longer than 20 seconds.

Effect of releasing a comet tail depends on air pollution. Normally there's none, it may only trigger some of her opponents' allergic reactions, as they inhale double the dust they normally would. However, in a toxic environment that can be a very dangerous weapon.

HISTORY

Michiko was born in a family in Tokyo. She has a five years older big brother. However, she was always their dad’s favourite child. Her dad has worked as an engineer supporting the pro heroes. She often visited him at his workshop and quietly watched him work. As a kid, she was really jealous of him taking care of pro heroes’ problems and wanted him to support her like that too. She used to often hug his legs in front of the heroes and declare to them that he was HER dad and not THEIRS. It resulted in many laughs, but also embarrassment and banned her from entering the workshop, which she felt deeply sad about. However, this was the moment she decided she’s going to do her best to become the hero herself to make her dad proud of her. As she grew more, she eventually got rid of her childish jealousy, but the dream remained, even stronger than before, when her big brother entered a high school for future heroes. Now it wasn't only a factor of making her dad proud, but her big brother, who she was really close to, too! As she watched him grow as a person and trained with him, she found a strange happiness in getting stronger and the thought that one day she may be able to help someone.

Few years later she took the U.A. Entrance Exam. She managed to pass it and she started studying at U. A. High School two years after her brother had graduated. Now, she's at her senior year. She doesn't regret her decision and thinks that it was the best one, she ever made.
