Qaydukh

Qaydukh is named after a heroine with an elbow so luminous, it cast away the night.

She once worked closely with a court magician of Carcosa and specialized in prophecies, revelations, and magical pigments and dyes. One day, she was deemed rabid and dangerous and was kept in a state of suspension, locked away in a beam of strange moonlight for decades. Whether she deserved it or not remains a mystery. 

Now that she's awake again, she's left with a distaste for human companionship, but only bears true malice towards the magician that betrayed her. She is glad to see that the heydays of Carcosa are over, much to Ythill's disappointment. 

She is the oldest surviving hoodle from the city, older than Ythill by months. They get along like old friends because of their shared past, despite not seeing much of each other before she was imprisoned. She thinks Ythill's prized pet is a little on the slow side, but loves the woolie nonetheless. She is very fond of the little hoodle that haunts the walls of the Maze that's been popping up in strange and dark corners of the city. They've always seemed to duck out of the way before she could get a word in. Qaydukh has seen them flitting about the old library however, and does not wish to disturb them.
