Haru was originally hired as a clerk for the Sapphire branch's Training Team, and worked happily in the background without much attention paid to her, not that she really minded either way- until one day, coinciding with what should've been a standard meltdown, an Ordeal began. Great runed obelisks crashed down from above, writhing black tentacles reaching from behind, and it took the efforts of every department to destroy them. It was after the Training Team's obelisk was destroyed that Haru was found, near death, slumped against the obelisk's obsidian base. She held a pistol loosely in her limp hand.

While Griffin and Hao hurried her to the medbay, Wetherby discussed the matter with the Sapphire manager. Both of them had seen something quite impressive during the ordeal- alongside the agents of the Training Team, there was Haru, shooting at the obelisk's tentacles with her pistol, giving it her all, before she finally broke under the stress and, soon after, was picked up and slammed against the obelisk, knocking her out. Wetherby had seen this show of valor and was impressed, and shared it with the manager, who, too, could only applaud Haru's bravery in the face of a monstrosity such as that. Once Haru was released from the medbay with her injuries and mental disturbances treated, she was phoned up by the manager and greeted with excellent news- she would be promoted to Agent status in the newly-constructed Safety Team!

Haru is tough, to-the-point and snarky, keeping a coolheaded, if bitingly sarcastic, attitude about the work she does. She greatly respects her fellow agents, takes great care to prevent harm to clerks (she used to be one, after all), and seems to respect the abnormalities as well, working matter-of-factly with a careful pace. She works quite frequently with the Snow Queen, learning ever more about the abnormality (and adapting to the freezing cold surprisingly well). It wasn't always this way, however- after her first couple of assignments to the Snow Queen's chamber, she was found frozen solid inside on-camera, and it took Lamarcus's help to get her out. The shards of ice on her face came from this incident.
