Cide tends to come off aloof and incomprehensive, often seen as uncaring or emotionless. Contrary to this, Cide is quite emotional and cares deeply. While Cecil and Tide are fused, Cide reconciles on their feelings between the two. Cide is made up of the self loathing between the pairing, thus cause Cide to become very unstable. Despite this, they enjoy being together.
When fused, they feel useless. Their existence isn't required, and not by any means important. At least that's what they think. Even though they know they're useless, they love being fused. When they're together, they feel the love between one another. That feeling of "I understand you."
Cide can't stand being apart, once they unfuse the two partners go through withdrawals. The fusion isn't exactly helpful when it comes to the mental state of Cecil and Tide, but compared to being separated, they feel stronger together in a way.
First time fusion: At first, Cecil and Tide feel this overwhemlming pain and sadness when combined. They're very unstable, and can barely keep themselves together. It's too much for the two. Despite this, they stay fused for the short duration they're needed.
Unhealthy: Whenever the two are fused, their mental state hits rock bottom. But they're able to maintain the fusion. Whenever Cecil and Tide are alone, they fuse into Cide. Knowing of their erratic behavior, others try to get them to unfuse, usually with failure.
Understanding: Cecil and Tide acknowledge their fusion is unhealthy, but can't stop themselves from it. They so desperately need one another, they can't get enough of each other's love. The love of feeling worthless together. The love of fighting together. The love of being together. Even though Cide is what they want to be, Cecil comes to the conclusion he needs to save Tide and himself from Cide. Ultimately, he makes the hard decision of no longer fusing. Not until the two BOTH get their mental health in check.
Even though the Cecil and Tide don't have romantic feelings for one another, they platonically need each other.
The fusion is still present, and becomes more stable as time goes on. But it's a long, hard process.
When fused, Cide is able to control mud. Their ability is tied greatly to their emotions, which they don't have much control of. They're capable of creating deadly mudslides.
