Your name is BIAN VUONG, but you have been going by ADRIAN since highschool. You are quite TIMID and SHY, and You’re not really one for MAKING FRIENDS or ENGAGING IN CONVERSATION as you are a little SOCIALLY STUNTED. While it appears you lack SOCIAL CONFIDENCE, you have too much SELF-CONFIDENCE and YOU SHOULD. You were BULLIED for your APPEARANCE your WHOLE LIFE and now you’re finally getting your confidence back.
You think you’re HOT SHIT and you’re NOT AFRAID TO SHOW IT, and it boosts your ego a lot when you catch someone ‘checking you out’. When they approach you, however, you tend to GO MUTE and you FIND IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP EYE CONTACT. You also seem to STUTTER A LOT. Your stutter has been around since you were a kid, and you don’t know how to fix it. Maybe it’s PERMANENT. You hate how you’re so SHY even when you’re OVERFLOWING WITH CONFIDENCE. It really puts your mood down when you can’t flirt with those who pick you out of a crowd.
Despite your obvious self-centeredness and boastful nature around those close to you, you are very SOFT-SPOKEN, EMPATHETIC and KIND. Usually once you get over your SHYNESS you’re quite EASY TO GET ALONG WITH and you’re always there for your friends no matter what. You could say that you’re also very LOYAL.
You’re just a MIXED BAG OF PERSONALITY aren’t you?
Adrian is shy, reserved and very anxious at the best of times. He can’t often order food on his own or talk to strangers but he’s working on getting better at that even if it takes a long time. While he doesn’t mind talking to people, he does get all flustered and quiet when someone points him out in a crowd or a group. It's hard being attractive but also incredibly awkward and skittish.
He suffered from some trauma in his past that have given him his debilitating anxiety, but is happily recovering with the help of a girl that 'rescued' him. He has a lot of love to give and is super affectionate. While it might be hard for him, he loves making new friends. Adrian unfortunately has a permanent stutter that gets worse when he's doing things like talking to strangers or ordering food, but he doesn’t let it stop him from trying to get to know people the best he can. Sometimes he has to stop talking, think over what he wants to say, take a deep breath and try again. His stutter is usually worst at the beginning of sentences, but once he knows what he's saying he can usually speak without messing up. He’s very self-conscious of it and it really annoys him, but he’s learning to ignore it.
He's very curious and is always interested in learning about new things and really enjoys the little things in life like seeing snow, a good lunch, and television. He's a very good boy and always tries his best to lend a hand and help others. The only good hand he can offer. His other one... doesn’t exactly work.
Adrian came from a very high-class socialite family. His mother, Ai, cheated on his father, Tung, with another man which resulted in her pregnancy. The guilt of it overwhelmed her to the point where she confessed to Tung what she had done while high on pain meds after giving birth, which altered him quite negatively. He became quite abusive of her, and in turn Adrian. His parents never split, as they were married and believed divorce was sinful, so he was stuck in a family where he was essentially neglected at every turn.
Ai was told sternly by her aristocratic friends to avoid taking him to social events and Tung agreed. Adrian quickly learnt how to fend for himself when he was left alone at home. Though, in saying that, he still can't cook. He'd often just order take-out with his parents' credit cards.
He suffered from a lot of verbal and physical abuse, and isolation from Tung, to the point where (even though his mother showed him closeted kindness) he ran away from home at the age of twelve. Only Ai knew of his disappearance as he left her a note specifically telling her not to say a word to Tung. He also took his father's one of many credit cards with him for money.
Tung tried cutting off the funds to the card, but Ai firmly stood her ground and forced him to keep it open so that she could see by his monitored transactions, that he was safe.
Unfortunately, while Adrian told his mother that he was running away to find somewhere new to live and fit in, he had actually planned to commit suicide. He just didn't want her to worry. He jumped from a rooftop, but didn’t die. He was found unconscious by a young girl around his age who was passing through the area who called for help.
He awoke a few days later in hospital, with the girl who rescued him, her adoptive mother, and his mother sitting by his bed. Ai began to sob upon seeing him wake, but had to refrain from pulling him into a hug as he was still ill. The doctor had asked around upon his admission and ended up contacting her. As soon as the doctor noticed he was no longer in a coma, and tried his best to tell him about where he was and what happened to him. He had suffered brain damage which resulted in his stutter and bad co-ordination, and had paralyzed his arm from the shoulder down from the force of landing on it, after breaking it in numerous places.
During his stay at the hospital, Ai was faced with a tough decision. It was clear that she would have to take Adrian back, but he would just be abused again. She was told that he’d be eligible for foster care, due to the abuse he suffers and her negligence. It was definitely something she was considering, as she knew that he’d probably be better off.
The girl’s - Margaret or ‘Mini’ - mother pulled Ai aside and let her know that he would probably fare no better in foster care as it can be quite rough jumping between houses, especially for someone with a disability. Ai had been speaking with her over the course of Adrian’s admission, and the two had grown to be friends. She asked her if she’d be willing to take parental rights, in which she agreed. That way she knew he was definitely safe and being cared for, and she knew that Mini’s mother would do a fantastic job, a better job than she ever could.
Adrian and Mini ended up incredibly close, and were almost always joined at the hip. As far as they were concerned, they didn’t really need anyone else – it was them against the world. Adrian had hidden feelings for her for a long time, but she didn’t reciprocate. Despite that, they ended up with a child around the end of highschool which made their relationship quite complicated. They still don’t officially consider themselves a couple, but just call themselves that to save face. They definitely plan to be good parents, even if they’re not overly sure what they consider themselves to be – but good ol’ grandma gives them a helping hand whenever they need it.

Adrian is about 5’9” in height and has a somewhat bulky appearance. He’s got a bit of muscle built up in his arms and chest, but is still soft in appearance. He’s got a wide jaw and scruffy facial hair and sideburns, and his eyes are brown. His hair is often styled up away from his forehead and is dyed a bright red with natural black roots. He has two lip piercings on his right side, and one industrial in each ear along with small black stretchers in his lobes.
His fashion style of choice is usually hoodies and tight jeans, but will often wear crop tops in the summer with a thin hoodie over his shoulders. He wears either a plain black beanie or a cap of any kind to hide a small bald patch on the top-back of his head where it’s scarred from his injury and not regrown. He always props his right arm up in a comfortable sling to keep it out of the way, and always wears his glasses.

(Nightmare – Set It Off)
- Adrian's human AU counterpart is Adrian
- He can’t cook at all. To the point where he straight up refuses to if he’s asked. He can make a bowl of cereal, but not a proper meal. He doesn’t even know how to fry an egg and doesn’t want to learn.
- His favourite food is marshmallows.
- He’s super clumsy and is usually always knocking things over, tripping over things, or running into things or people. This could be due to the fact that he’s unco-ordinated, but also because his eyesight is incredibly poor and he’s always losing his glasses.
- He has a pet bat that he rescued when he found it with a broken wing one morning. After it had recovered, he tried releasing it back into the wild but it kept coming back to him as though it considered him it’s family. Adrian lets the bat do what it wants at night but it always comes back to him at dawn. He knows that one day it may not come back, and he’s okay with that.
- Adrian refuses to play sport because he knows he’ll probably hurt himself or someone else accidentally. He’d rather watch from the sidelines and usually really enjoys seeing a good game.
Mini was the one who saved Adrian’s life after he leapt from the building in an attempt to end it. He’s been indebted to her ever since and believes she’s the most important and influential person in his life. He’s grown to love her, but since she doesn’t reciprocate he’s happy just having her as his best friend and roommate until the day that she finally decides to confess her feelings too. Even though they have a child together, they don’t consider each other part of a romantic couple.
While she may have neglected him in favour of keeping what little social reputation she had left, Adrian still feels close to his mother and tries his best to keep in contact with her whenever he can so that she knows that he’s alright. He knows that she does care about him, even if she feels pressured to disown him by her husband and friends. He doesn’t blame her for this and has since forgiven her for her actions and behaviour.
Adrian and Tung have never got along and yet Adrian still doesn’t hold a grudge against him and has forgiven him for his abuse also – but that doesn’t mean that Adrian has accepted him into his life again. As far as he’s concerned, he’s disowned his father like he did with him and wants nothing to do with the man that made his life a living hell. If Tung changed his mind and ways, he’d reconsider letting him back into his life because he’s nice like that, but the thought hasn’t yet crossed his mind.
