The Companions of Cloud Nine
Cloud Nine is haunted by spirits and otherworldly beings of many kinds. He does his best to form friendly relationships with them where possible, but not every entity he comes into contact with understands what it is to be kind.

Scrim is a mischievous spirit who feeds on the paranoias of other people, manifesting as intrusive thoughts and irrational thinking.

Lye . it/they
Lye's presence blocks out Cloud Nine's empathic abilities, preventing him from feeling the presence of spirits or other people.
the hunger
Zahn . it/its
Being in the presence of Zahn makes people hungry for something -- anything. It turns people vicious and avaricious.
the wishing star
Sirius . he/him
A capricious granter of wishes, Sirius often gives people their heart's desire with an unbearable drawback accompanying it.
the knowledge-seeker
Croesus . he/they
A being with a dragon's hoard of knowledge, known and forbidden. Every orb he holds contains a memory.
the observer
Blinky . it/he/they
Nobody is entirely sure what Blinky does, other than watch everybody else with its huge eyes. It is often seen in improbable locations.
the static
Ambleback . it/its
A creature which travels through electrical devices. It is unexpectedly large in its true form, which few people ever see.
the madness
Nerine . she/her
Nerine brings mania and instability wherever she goes. Those she possesses grow wild and ravenous, taking on new forms to match.
