Liz Shepard

Liz is the kind of girl that doesn't like staying in one place. She loves to go on long adventures and exploring. She has a tremendous love for water and ocean ever since she was little. In high school, she was an avid swimmer, and have won many games for her school. Despite her love for swimming, even competitively, she didn't like the praises, and the popularity that came with it, so she often kept to herself and avoided people.

Liz, in a way, is antisocial. She can't stand being in a large group of people. When she was in high school, she generally avoided people and kept to herself. she had very few friends as she didn't want to have friends that only cared for her because of her success in swimming.

When Liz was 17, in the summer after her Junior year in high school, Liz decided to go on a trip to the Florida Keys, which had always been her favourite place. She camped at Sugarloaf key, and then went on various diving trips. During one of the diving, she made friends with a couple of mermaids. While spending the weekend with the mermaids, they offered her a gift to be transformed into a mermaid. Liz gleefully accepted this gift, they also gave Liz the ability to regain legs upon being dry to ease the transition from her human life to mermaid. This was so Liz could finish her last year in high school and graduate.

However, this required Liz to make a lot of adjustment in her life, as being a mermaid on land... was not easy. 

Sometime after she graduated, Liz realized that she was much happier as a mermaid than human, that she decided to permanently live underwater to fully embrace her mermaid side. She still occasionally goes on land from time to time.
