Basics
Desmond could be quite daring, especially if it's to get what he wants. Whenever he can, Desmond would go out of his way to mess with nobles, upperclassmen, and higher-ups. However, he wouldn't do it without an objective in mind. If it was to obtain something that would be useful for him, he would most likely go for it. Desmond is observant and sometimes quick-witted, he's also good at sneaking into places and disappearing from others' sight.
Desmond has a primarily dominant personality and doesn't like taking orders from others. However he does have to deal with it if the job calls for it, or else he won't be granted blood packs.

About
As a human, Desmond was an orphan at a rundown orphanage and grew to be independent. He took care of the other children during his time at the orphanage. Once he grew old enough, nobody wanted to adopt him. He watched others his age get adopted and sent away to their new families. Since he was already independent, this didn't bother him at all. He spent his late teens helping others and taking in small odd jobs here and there. Desmond moved out of the orphanage due to the fact that he was becoming too old to stay. Moving out on his own wasn't so bad, he was able to find a place even though it wasn't in the best condition; he was still satisfied. The neighborhood he moved into was friendly, everyone knew him since he loved helping them out. They would pay him in commodities such as fruits, vegetables and even meals. If he was lucky, his neighbors would give him some cash as well.
Although things were going smooth in his life, rumors of supernatural beings started spreading in his town. At that point, everyone around would be extremely wary of each other. Suspecting whoever was acting 'abnormal' to be some sort of being. There were cases were some people would disappear during the day and only appear at night. Desmond was careless although he had heard everything about supernatural beings. An incident occurred that involved Desmond and a strange man who was the cause of him turning into a vampire. Ever since then, Desmond would get a weird thirst for blood. He disliked it so much that he decided to hunt down the vampire that made him that way. Soon after, Desmond couldn't stay any longer as people started getting suspicious of him. He then left home and hopped from one town to another in search for the vampire and perhaps, a new meaning to life. As time went by, his strong dislike was replaced with new feelings. He now enjoys consuming human blood and has loosened up over time, not taking things too seriously even though he still has a goal.
