LINES

Nikolai Aleksandrovich Korobeiniki is The Weaver -- in more ways than one, of course. He brings the threads of Fate through the weave and weft of his will; he strings together the script and the Lines of the other members of the cast; he weaves cloth every week to meet the daily quota of fabric that the Rooks require from his household. After his mother's death and his sister's disappearance, he became the sole caretaker of his younger sister, Sonya Aleksandrovna. As a result of this, he's ended up carrying himself with a certain gravity in his step and a certain weight on his shoulders that never seems to give him any room to rest -- especially, of course, when he has to compose himself like a soldier in order to give heart to the ones who rely on him.

ANGLES

Natalia Delovna Romanova's take on him: "He's awfully scary, isn't he? Well, not scary -- exactly, I guess, I don't wanna say that, 'specially when he's always been real nice to me and everyone around him… but, well, that's 'xactly how I feel when I spend too much time with him. Always got this intense look with him that I don't like, and the red glow in the back of his throat can get awfully bright, in a way that makes me think he's gonna grow teeth and take a bite out of whatever's making him mad. He's mad at everything, and for good reason, too. The Rooks have really got him trapped good."

Tolys Mareika's take on him: "If I knew how to describe Nikolai Aleksandrovich Korobeiniki, I would've solved most of my own problems, by now. What can I say? He's attractive, in the way a soldier is attractive. Walks tall, like a steel rod is keeping him up. Straightforward. Blunt. Angry. Hell-driven by a purpose that I can't understand -- but maybe that's just me. Kolya, Kolen'ka… Ah, I wish I could've done more for you."
