William

William Grimaldi is the younger brother of Damast Grimaldi and the current youngest child of the Grimaldi Family. A snarky person, with the wits to back him up, as well as the left hand man of Guinevere Brahe.

He is considered an enemy to the crown.

Appearance

William is an averaged sized man, with legs so long that he appears taller. He has grey skin, visible fangs, which often poke out between his lips, and dark, claw-like nails. His hair is white, unruly and covers his right eye fully. There is a slight undertone of rose color in his hair. He has dark eyes, which turn slanted, the more he lets his vampiric nature take over, even though his are unusual slanted to begin with.

He wears a white, open shirt on his upper body, which exposes a good portion of his chest. It has binding in the middle part, yet William never bothered to actuall tie it. The poofy sleeves pool around the end of the shirt arms, where it is tight around his wrists. Under the binding of his shirt, a wooden cross necklace is visible. He wears dark, high waisted, formfitting pants, which are buttoned up by gold buttons. The legs vanish, at thigh high, into boots, which are accented at the top with the same golden color the buttons have, and, near the buttom, more gold accents (in a slightly floral pattern) adorn his boots.

When he lets his vampiric nature take over, his eyes turn to slits and his fangs become freely visible. If he intends to drink from someone and keep them still at the same time, his jaw will unhinge, exposing that all of his teeth have become needle sharp. His nails, while visible before, have elongated even more, now reminiscent of little knives.

Personality

William loves to joke around and is as fast on his feet as with his words. He may seem simple to some, but his casual demeanor hides a brilliant mind. He is able to think up new strategies on the spot and is able to remember location, names and historic events quickly and without problems.

Sadly, he also tends to be a bit lazy and while he has an easy time remembering things, he is often times too lazy to even open up the book in the first place. Only if a topic really captures his interest, will he spend weeks with his nose stuck in books, spending basically every waking moment (and then some) in the library.

While he is loyal, he sometimes isn't sure if it is enough. Damast once asked him if he would kill friends to stay loyal to other people and he still hasn't found an answer that satisfies him fully.

History

William grew up in Brahe castle, as the second child of the Grimaldi family, alongside his parents, his older brother Damast and the Brahe family themselves. As expected of the Grimaldi family, he was introduced to Gwendolyn when he was still young, seeing as his family held the duty of protecting the Brahes.

Growing up in a castle never left him wanting anything and he is used to servants as well as food, that has been cooked with vampires in mind. Still, he often asked himself if that was all life had to offer and often, as a result, left the castle to find other people and spend time with them.

Abilities and Powers

• Enhanced Strength: Undergoing training from a young age, William is proficient in battling. He may not have Damast's raw strength, but he can still hold his own in a battle as well, seeing as even a weaker vampire is still above normal humans. What he is lacking in strength, he makes up in speed and stamina. His fighting style is thus using the force and power of the enemy against themselves and to dodge their attack until they tire, which is when he will land the final blow. As it is a sign of pride of the Grimaldis, he never had weapons training (which absolutely does not hinder him from carrying a dagger on himself at all times).
• Enhanced Regeneration: William, as is the norm for vampires, possesses a tremendous regeneration ability. It does not allow him to regrow limbs, but it can bring him back from the brink of death, if his body has enough black blood to heal him. If this isn't the case, he might go into a feral state, trying to aquire the needed blood.

Trivia

• William, as an old german name, means 'resolute protector' and while the protection part may be true to his role, the resolution part is a big part of his insecurities.
• He had many human friends, and saw a lot of them die of old age as well as sickness. Thus he vowed to leave any new friends on their 40. birthday, to keep the memory of them as younger people alive and not taint it with them in their dying moments.
