Profile
Violet Sapphire was one of the first sapphires to emerge on Earth. She emerged with a vein of rubies and saw herself as no different, and no more special, than them. Violet was given to a correctional agate to try to teach her how to behave as a functional sapphire, but the agate she was assigned to (honey dendrite) was kind hearted and instead hid on Earth with her to avoid persecution. Their story starts when the two of them emerge from hiding in various, abandoned, underground and off planet bases thousands of years after the war to find no gem colony on Earth.
Violet Sapphire is tall for a sapphire, and has a thin, but curvy build. She has never been poofed and as such still wears her pink diamond uniform: a magenta puff-sleeved halter top with the pink diamond insignia, long magenta gloves, a dark magenta scarf draped at her waste, magenta pants, and dark magenta boots. She has short, tousled, nearly white thisle hair that covers her second eye. Violet has two pink eyes and is very slightly taller than peridot (w/o her limb enhancers). She has violet skin and her gem shows various shades of violet and indigo.
Violet has a fiery personality, as she cares fiercely about her values and other gems. Violet Sapphire can only predict bad futures, which adds a sense of anxiety and fearfulness to her personality, which she tends to manifest outwardly as anger. Despite her attitude problem, she is very loving, and a loyal ally.
Violet Sapphire emerged with a strain of rubies on Earth, off color and with flawed future vision. Blue diamond deemed Violet's ability to see bad futures as being still valuable to Pink, and so assigned her an agate to intimidate her into masking her anxiety/depression, and complying with her role as a sapphire. Violet was combative and wanted to serve as a soldier with the rubies she grew with, and never understood what made one kind of corrundum more valuable than another, especially if her future vision was going to be flawed anyway.
Violet was assigned Honey Dendritic Agate, who was far too gentle for an agate and was trying to mask to fill her role out of fear. Instead of the social reprogramming going as planned, Violet and Honey bonded over struggling to fill their assigned social roles, and eventually Violet convinced Honey to flee from homeworld with her to be their authentic selves.
Fusions
- When fused with Honey Dendrite, they form Angel Wing Alunite
Skillset
- Sword Fighting: Violet is very skilled with swords, and primarily battles using her gem-manifested cutlass.
- Superhuman Strength: Like most other gems, Violet has superhuman strength.
- Superhuman Agility: Like most other gems, Vioelt has superhuman agility and acrobatic abilities.
- Shapeshifting: Like other era one gems Violet can shapeshift, but usually chooses not to.
Unique Abilities
- Future Vision: Violet's future vision is flawed, but she can see bad outcomes and futures with no limit, making her future vision strategically viable, but emotionally draining.
- Levitation: Like other sapphires, Violet can levitate to some degree, but it mostly takes the form of "space jumps" that ignore gravity and slower descent.
- Pyrokinesis: Like the rubies she emerged with, Violet is able to manifest and control fire.
Honey Dendritic Agate
Violet has a queerplatonic relationship with Honey Dendrite. The two round eachother out in ways that comfort the other, which encourages them to stay fused for longer than needed. Violet's motivation and passion can help with honey's slower pace and more cowardly demeaner, and Honey's more relaxed nature, and stability helps ease violet's anxiety and keep her grounded.
Pink Diamond
Violet Sapphire has never met pink diamond, but was made for her on Earth.
- Violet Sapphire is literally a blue sapphire with ruby inclusions.
- Violet emerged, and went into hiding, before Pink Diamonds "shattering," meaning she is clueless about the entire war
- Violet Sapphire is an Era 1 gem
