Profile
Drift is a Firbolg adventurer, travelling the world. They're often joined by their closest friends Wheeljack and Ratchet...when the latter one hasn't run off on some grand errant, that is.
Technically, the firbolg name Dairra means "Drifter", which shortened to "Drift" overtime. Both are accurate for this being. Drift is on the tall side, though not extremely so. They're a sinewy Firbolg with long, wild white hair, brown skin covered in fuzzy fur, a pointy white beard and long, fluffy ears. Their tail is also supremely fluffy. Drift's haggard face is somewhat reminiscent of a goat, with horizontal rectangular pupils in the teal eyes and a broad, pink nose (very good for booping.) They're usually clad in red-and-white clothes - a loose white shirt, comfy red pants, a red overcoat with a hood and sandals. Their two daggers rest in a belt on the hips, their rapier and shortbow on the back.
(Self Described) Short for a firbolg, tall for anyone else. Ratty used to call me a "stab-happy shortstack". I'd say I'm middle-aged, then again, I'm very generous to myself...Apart from that, nothing unusual.
They have generous golden piercings in places you can't see, and two on the fuzzy ears. Some light armour of leather, bronze and monster crabshells makes it easy be protected and still pull off epic moves. Their stuff is stored in a sturdy linen backpack and trusty fanny pack.
At first glance, they're completely unflappable. But if you've been in a Dungeon with them for more than an hour, their grudge against certain monsters, distrust towards anything undead, and occasional unthinking moment of excitement become apparent - as does their laser-focus in combat and scouting. Not incredibly trusting, they're usually friendly and jokey, while trying to keep their distance as much as they can. Drift tends to veer towards an overly positive view of things and loves seeing and experiencing something new.
[formal history]Firbolg clan. Halflings. Bad decisions. Pirates. Rodimus (and later Wheeljack and Ratchet). Solo adventures. Meeting up with Wheeljack and looking for Ratchet.
About five years ago, Turmoil marooned me on the coast. Good for him, because somehow, after losing my job and crew, I became a member of a weirdly spiritual congretation of highwaymen (and then lost those, too.) Talk about a tumultuous life! And now? Now i have word of an old friend appearing, and decided I had nothing better to do than chase his tail, and do some good along the way!

Ratchet
Ratchet is one of Drift's oldest friends and quite possibly the person they're closest to. Riling him up via completely outlandish and possibly made-up religious theories is one of their favourite things, but just being around the grouchy cleric - talking, exploring, quipping, and philosophizing - is quite enough, too. When first heading out into the world, they were happy to find another adventuring firbolg on the road, and the two joined various caravans and parties together on a steady route towards the sea. Being almost polar opposites, weirdly enough, was the main catalyst for their friendship: Things never got boring on long stretches of the road, and telling each other about their very different experiences proved an interesting pastime. Ratchet might roll his eyes, and Drift might go overboard trying to provoke him, but their mutual respect for and knowledge of each other ensures their friendship stays strong.
Rodimus
A journeyman on a quest to collect world's greatest stories, the goblin bard is a frequent companion of Drift's, and usually the one that will accompany them on journeys even Wheeljack shakes his head at. Drift finds Rodimus' outgoing and enthusiastic nature relaxing, and he tends to bring out their chaotic side with his infectious speeches. In combat, they value Rodimus' bardic skills and out-of-the-box ideas. Rodimus and Drift will move heaven and hell to get each other's asses out of bad situations, and their admiration of each other is good for their collective self esteem.
Wheeljack
Drift met the orc fighter Wheeljack when both took on the same request: clearing a ruined village overrun by monsters from the forest. They found out they worked well as a team, traveled together for a while, and became fast friends. Wheeljack sought out Drift after they went solo for some years, and persuaded them to travel to Cogwheel Village in search of clues for the current whereabouts of Ratchet and Rodimus and the details of their "legendary untertaking".
Saber
Drift met Saber (and the rest of The Party) while taking on the same errant job as them. His righteousness still grates on them, but Saber's courage and impressive feats of group-wrangling changed their first impression of him.
Cosmos
Cosmos' friendly demeanor lead Drift to keep their distance at first, but after clearing a few dungeons together, witnessing them befriend their spider companion Doc, their respect for life, and having Ceiling Solidarity, they'd say Cosmos is "somewhat of a friend" when asked.
Arcee
Drift has a healthy amount of respect for the mighty drow warrior. Her fighting skill and no-nonsense nature left a mark on them - and a mental note to try and not cross her when alone deep in a dungeon. Fighting alongside someone as quick-thinking and strong as Arcee is incredibly fun for them.
Perceptor
Drift thinks of Perceptor as very likeable, his inquisitive nature and general badassery left a positive aura when he first joined the party. They enjoy his company immensely - fighting, munching and vibin'.
- After a particularly bad gig of his, they helped Rodimus set a tavern on fire.
- They dislike closed shoes.
- Drift, Rodimus, Ratchet and Wheeljack are in regular letter correspondence with each other when they part ways. Drift actively seeks out new stories to write to Rodimus about, and also sends back letters to the people they grew up with - the Halfling village where they lived for half a decade, who will relay letters to Drift's firbolg clan when they pass by.
