Intellectual, diligent, self-disciplined, Kai seems to be the gifted child any parents should be proud of. However, he is a late bloomer who took a long time to follow his dream while struggling to be free from his family's expectations. Once separated from his beloved twin brother, Kai develops a long-standing codependency with him and lacks the ability to interact properly with other people. Stubborn, short-tempered and unsociable, with a soft side only shown towards his brother.
Has a passion for cooking and immense knowledge of food and nutrition, though he would reject anyone's help and prefers to dominate the kitchen for himself. His favorite food is fried chicken.

Kai is extremely protective of his twin brother and devotes his life to taking care of him, seeing Ren as the only family member who he cares about. Since Kai has difficulty expressing what he thinks, Ren is the only one who communicates well with him and often acts as the 'interpreter' who conveys his thoughts to other people.

Miguel set up the two to stick together since he wants to spend extra time with Ren. At first Kai thought Kasumi was annoying, but as they hang out frequently he began to be attracted to her radiating energy.

When Kai found out that Miguel has a crush on Ren, he resented the man for trying to snatch his brother away from him. He only warmed up after a long time, seeing that Miguel truly loves Ren and treats his brother with respect.
