Zhì Xuělán

xuelan is a quiet guy with an intimidating air abt him. he doesn't talk much, so he comes off as cold. his height doesn't help the intimidating bit either... really he's a gentle guy though. he's very sweet (provided the person is someone he cares about), he just doesn't have much to say. with strangers he's very polite, but it definitely comes off as very frigid because of his general...... Aura. he doesn't emote very well either, go figure.

xuelan is the oldest child in a fairly important family. they're very rich and influential, and are well-known for dealing with/exorcising spirits and other supernatural creatures. lots of priests, shrines, etc. they're spiritual, very very strict people. naturally, xuelan was very talented and intelligent. he was brought up to be pretty sheltered by his very very very uptight parents. as he got older tho he developed a bad habit of letting a certain Someone hang around him too much and they became really close friends despite their opposing personalities.

unfortunately that certain someone had a weird curse and was being tracked by a demon who eventually kidnapped him. xuelan naturally dropped everything to go after him, despite everyone telling him that that lil bastard wasn't worth it. xuelan's a devoted guy tho.... so he went to save him from the demon. he's learned a lot about fighting and exorcising demons so it shouldn't be too bad right? it didn't go too well. not only did he not kill the demon, but he was tortured, lost his sight as well as one of his fingers, and almost killed. he Did save his friend but like... at what cost, really. his parents were unhappy that their talented, intelligent eldest son was blinded and gravely injured because of that little brat who always bothered him. they did kinda discount him for a while because of it, but xuelan really devoted himself to learning how to get by even so. also unfortunately, his friend had to kinda go into hiding after that so the demon would lose track of him, so they were separated.

naturally, xuelan doesn't hold any resentment about the whole thing, because it was his choice and he fully believes he did the right thing. he's... become a little too devoted in the time that they've been separated. nowadays he kinda just wanders around exorcising spirits for lil poor villagers if they need his help. and.. looking for his Man... he just wants to meet him again and know he's alive. he's definitely in love and pining like a stupid rat bastard, but even if they met up again he'd never like... Say It.. he's happy to be lonely and dumb forever as long as he gets to see His Man again. tho ofc that won't happen and they'll meet up again and hunt ghosts together and fall in love and get married even if xuelan's parents STRONGLY DISAPPROVE uwu.
