Akuru was an orphan who never had friends at the orphanage. The orphanage was next to a graveyard, so every once in awhile, Akuru would watch people visit the graveyards, and eventually starts to help around the cemetery. The kids often scare her with ghost stories and the like, but she won't let it get past her easily.

eventually, she gets adopted by a couple, one whose name was Vanessa. Akuru cherishes them both, and the two raised her as their own. But sometimes, there are times where she gets saddened by the fact that she's their adopted daughter.

When she grew up, Akuru gets enrolled into Lumino High, in which a girl named Namae, a bright cheerful girl who somehow became an outcast, befriends Akuru. They were best friends and classmates,and often or not would hang out with each other. Namae would often listen to Akuru's rambling.

But one day, unfortunately, Namae passed away after jumping into a incoming train. Akuru was saddened by this infact, and was the only person to attend Namae's funeral. Though, even after this, there was something that wasn't right about Namae's death.
