Profile

Haru is a very calm and reserved person, preferring to stay quiet until she deems it necessary to speak. It is rare for her temper to flare up noticeably, and when she is visibly upset you know that something major has happened. (One of the main things that can get her like this is her sister or any of their friends being genuinely threatened.) She is analytical and weighs all of her options before deciding what to do. She carefully studies her surroundings, which makes her quick to notice when things are not as they seem. She is also a realist, looking at the world around her in a mostly objective way. (One notable exception is her sister, whom she will always have faith in.) She is deeply compassionate, always willing to help someone who truly needs it. She is completely loyal to those who have earned her trust, most especially her closest friends. She is very witty and enjoys teasing her friends and sister when she sees an opportunity.

STORY:

Haru and Natsu were born 10 minutes apart on the summer solstice (prompting their names, as they were born "as spring became summer"). As Haru was technically the first born, she was named Crown Princess and heir to the throne. She and her sister grew up exploring the castle and the surrounding city, more often than not accompanied by the guard captain, Angeal, or his apprentice Zack. Early on, Haru began displaying the Light magic inherent to the royal bloodline, and she loved practicing in the twins' room at night, to Natsu's constant delight.

Ventus is the one who meets Haru and Natsu in BbS, after crash-landing in Tafe City while attempting to return to the Land of Departure to confront Master Eraqus. He is roped into fighting the Unversed that are running rampant through the castle, and in doing so rescues the twins. Haru is quiet, and while grateful to Ven for rescuing them, does not form quite the emotional bond that Natsu does. She sits in the girls' room while her sister shows Ven around the castle. The world itself begins suffering from some cataclysmic event soon after Ven's arrival, and he takes the girls off-world when it becomes clear that the world will not survive. He first takes them with him back to the Land of Departure, but Terra sends all three to Destiny Islands to protect them. Ven decides that the twins can stay there, and he makes them promise to take care of each other no matter what may try to tear them apart. The three of them also promise to never forget each other. Before he leaves, Haru hands him a folded piece of paper and tells him to wait until he leaves to open it. Ven opens it after he leaves to reveal a childish drawing of him fighting the Unversed while the girls are standing behind him. 'Thank you, Ven!' is scrawled across the top. She had drawn it in her room during his tour of the castle.

Growing up on the Islands, Haru keeps to herself for a large part of her early years there. She has been heavily affected by the loss of her old home and her family and seems to lack emotional responses. It takes her a long while to recover enough to begin interacting with the other children on the Islands, but they soon accept her into their fold as if she had always been with them. She also begins to learn to play the piano, as the twins' adoptive parents have one in their home.

Haru makes it to Traverse Town at the same time as Sora and Natsu in KH, but she does not find them before they go off-world with Donald and Goofy. She is instead found by Zack, and after a joyous reunion, he leads her to the first district as she tells him her story. There, she meets Leon and the others from Radiant Garden and is relieved to hear that at least Natsu and Sora are safe. She spends her time training with magic under the tutelage of Merlin and uses her newfound skills to aid in fighting the Heartless in Traverse Town. Riku finds her after a while and takes her to Hollow Bastion to try and win her over as an ally, but she sees that he is being misled and falling to the darkness, and fruitlessly attempts to talk some sense into him. They nearly come to blows during the final events that lead up to his possession by Ansem, and she finally expresses her full anger at him for betraying their friends, and especially her sister, the way he has. As he walks away to his final battle against Sora as himself, he leaves her to fend for herself against the Heartless. At the last moment, she is rescued by the Beast, who leads her to her sister and their friends. She is taken back to Traverse Town then, and she stays there until the worlds are restored.

In CoM/Days, she is back on Destiny Islands with Kairi and the others, and Natsu is teaching her and Kairi how to fight so they won't be defenseless like they were in Hollow Bastion. She has a slight sense that something is amiss with her memories when Sora becomes forgotten to the world as he sleeps, but the feeling is overshadowed by her worry for her sister as she struggles with immense emotional turmoil.

She follows her sister and Kairi through the portal to Twilight Town in KH II, and the three of them bond easily with Hayner, Pence, and Olette. Upon meeting the Disciplinary Committee, Haru doesn't clash with them quite as explosively as her sister, but she does find them a bit disagreeable initially. After another Nobody attack, King Mickey appears and aids them. In order to try and throw Axel off of their trail, Mickey starts leading them to other worlds where the Heartless have appeared but Sora hasn't shown up. Eventually, they reach Hollow Bastion while Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Sienna are there, and they all help fend off the massive Heartless invasion. Here, it is Saix who finally succeeds in capturing Kairi, with Axel attempting to help protect her. From here, Haru joins Sora's group initially. They manage to find the restored Tafe City, and the twins reunite not only with Zack, but also with their guard captain Angeal, and their birth parents. They reveal to a stunned Sora that they are the princesses of Tafe City and not originally from the Islands like they had let him believe. Afterward, Haru elects to return to Twilight Town in case Kairi were to escape. She eventually finds the train that travels to the Mysterious Tower and meets Master Yen Sid. He sees something special in her after they talk for a while, prompting him to perform a Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony on her, which she passes. She is then sent back to Twilight Town and meets up with Sora and the others. She surprises everyone by wielding her Keyblade, Fallen, throughout the rest of their adventure. Haru is the first to leave through the portal to Destiny Islands before the true final fight against Xemnas, and she is relieved when the others return through the Door to Light.

During the time frame of coded, Haru finds it within herself to forgive Riku for everything he has done, though their friendship is still shaky. She and her sister easily reconnect with their adoptive parents, and their home lives return to relative normality. She continues training with the others on the play island, and she is decidedly better at balancing this with her schoolwork than Natsu. As Riku begins spending more and more time at the twins' house and often sleeps over due to his parents' inability to accept the changes in him, Haru begins to understand more about him and what he has been through, and their friendship begins to mend and strengthen. Due to this, she is able to accept the rapid progression of Riku and Natsu's relationship surprisingly easily. Haru herself spends increasing amounts of time with Kairi, as they are the ones least experienced with their Keyblades, and through Kairi interacts with Namine. Haru, to her surprise, finds herself falling in love with Namine, but keeps quiet about it due to the nature of Namine's current existence.

In 3D, Haru stays with Kairi on the Islands, and they continue training with each other while waiting for the others to return from the Mark of Mastery exam. Their friendship becomes arguably one of the strongest in the group as they spend time together and relay shared experiences of being left behind and out of the action. After the boys' exam is completed, Riku brings both Haru and Kairi to Master Yen Sid to begin properly training with their Keyblades.

She surprises Natsu by being there when she returns from her own Mark of Mastery and is immensely proud of her sister when she hears that she passed.

In -A fragmentary passage-, Haru is there alongside Riku, Kairi, and Natsu as Mickey tells them of how he met Aqua in the Realm of Darkness. She quickly understands the wisdom of keeping Aqua's sacrifice a secret from Riku upon his outburst but also understands why he is upset. She is shocked upon being told that she and Kairi will be training with Lea, and quietly resolves to look after her friend as best she can.

In KH III, Haru is training with Kairi and Lea. [IN PROGRESS]
