The childhood friend of Oshiharuki Sae, she looked out for her meek friend with all her heart, fighting and protecting him while also throwing herself into the world of trendy 80's fashion at the same time she dove into the world of traditional culture, art, and history. Graduating high school, she pursued a career in history, becoming an avid collector of texts and artifacts from all throughout Japan's history. But Mia's quirks became national news when she was caught inside an ex-boyfriend's home, eating the flesh off his bones. Mia became the thing of headlines, as she stood before a court and declared that she wasn't guilty of the serial murders and cannibalism of 15 different men across Japan, as 'she was the living incarnation of a woman's vengence', citing ties and references from several folkloric texts as if they absolved her crimes. All it got her was a lethal injection. Upon waking up in The Red Ward, Mia saw a world full of potential lunch dates and history to explore, only to find her old friend Sae once more. Continuing her promise to protect him, she joined him as his dilligent 'personal historian' and enforcer,and as 'The Hannya' she would devour all who stood in his path to power.
