Biography 

Lucia is the strange storekeeper, checkout lady, stockroom leader, and most importantly, cashier of the last general/convenience store that remains open in the City. She has been working there at the register for ... a long time. So much so, she remembers most of the Age of Lights, the Shut Down and the time since past. During her time at the register she has seen every conceivable type of customer and City denizen. Working during the worst day, the Day the Lights Turned Out has left her broken and despondent. Due to the absolute influx of customers and people barging in, screaming, stealing, harrassing, etc, she no longer is able to see a reality outside of that day. As such, to say she is odd is an understatement.

Lucia is both hyper aware, active, awake and perceptive of things that goes on, she is also completely oblivious to the monumental amount of time that has passed since that day. No matter what goes on, she is always perceiving reality as if time from that day has not moved on. She attempts to hurry every customer through her store. She has little patience for anyone no matter what and she's always remarking how busy the store is, even if there is only one person in all week.

She's quick to tune people out and ignore any questions or comments. Some find her odd and quirky and others find her downright rude. She takes no notice. She'll be flustered and out of breath the next day and then the next. And after many days, the one after the final one.

Lucia both hates her job and the customers and her life.  But she knows nothing else besides it.  She hasn’t taken a day off in god knows how long.  Mostly because she’s despondent and unaware when she’s away from work.  On the job, she’s irritable but only because she’s trying to keep the non existent line moving.  Always because she’s worried management is going to say something.  They never do.  Mostly because it’s likely they never showed up to work.  They likely died, along with the majority of The City when The Mind Haven shut down and electronically collapsed.

 When this happened, those still alive and conscious and mobile burst into a panic.  They began to raid places, looking for ways to help those trapped within the mental clutches of The Haven.  One of the victims of this was Lucia’s store, of which only had her as the sole employee.

 Having no one to help out and the sheer amount of panic, stress and trauma it caused, Lucia was utterly broken.  So, to this day, Lucia works in the same place that destroyed her mind.  But it’s all she knows.
