Angels are generally known to be emotionally distant beings that put their duty and sanctity of their nature above all else.

When Owen was created, however, the creator decided to try something new. Instead of being a neutral being of grace, Owen was blessed with the gift of being able to fully express emotions when not "on the job".

Owen is what some may call an "angel of death"; he escorts the souls of the recently deceased that are bound for the pearly gates. The catch is that when escorts are sent to their location, the person at risk may actually survive the moment of crisis. In those cases, the angels only observe the situation and leave when the moment passes.

Due to the unpredictable nature of each case, the time leading up to the crisis point is very nerve-wracking to Owen. He cares very much about the people he watches over, and often wishes that those that do succumb didn't have to. Since he is virtually by himself until someone passes on, he takes the time to express his emotions to their fullest extent. He often howls, cries, and begs as the events unfold before him.

When the case turns out to be a positive instead of a false positive, Owen recognizes that his time to act has come and quickly composes himself to greet his charge with an understanding demeanor and a warm disposition.
