Kades Hydrangea, born into a family without elemental powers, was born as a miracle mage possessing the ability to control moisture as water attacks. Facing financial hardship, his family sacrificed their last resources to send him to a magic school, and Kades made a solemn oath to become a great mage to support his struggling family.

Kades's unwavering dedication led him to the pinnacle of his class, mastering the art of elemental prowess. He formed a close bond with Uhkir, whose elemental ability allowed him to create gold. Kades, with his gentle and inviting nature, had the remarkable gift of making friends even out of the most antisocial individuals, including the reserved and introverted Revnala, whom he befriended and grew fond of.

On a fateful Valentine's Day, Kades mustered the courage to confess his feelings to Revnala, only to be met with rejection. Without knowledge of her reasons, Kades found himself grappling with insecurities about his masculinity and grew increasingly bitter.

Even while residing in the luxurious dorms, Kades maintained regular communication with his family through letters. But as their financial situation deteriorated, the flow of letters dwindled. Kades, consumed by a growing complex, started to believe he deserved everything he wanted due to his status as the top student in the class and possibly the entire school. What initially started as a desperate drive to improve his family's situation transformed into an insatiable greed for power and wealth.

A pivotal confrontation with Uhkir ensued, where Kades demanded gold from his friend, who could effortlessly create it. When Uhkir refused, the situation escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in Kades shooting out his best friend's eye with a powerful jet of water. Consumed by immediate guilt over this betrayal and the subsequent departure of Uhkir from the school and his self-imposed isolation, Kades was expelled from Pelargonium Academy and withdrew from his peers, harboring self-loathing and remorse.

Aimless and desperate to improve his family's financial circumstances, he assumed the role of a village defender as a kind warrior named Alarandas vouched greatly for him in spite of his reputation.

Seeking redemption and a means to alleviate the weight of his guilt, four years later Kades embarked on a journey to Uhkir's mansion, bearing an apology for his past actions, hoping to mend the bonds of their friendship.

Kades often gives the impression of being more imposing than he truly is, largely because his natural facial expression carries an unintentional intensity that resembles a piercing glare. However, beneath this seemingly stern exterior lies a gentle, selfless, and remarkably sensitive individual. Kades is an extrovert at heart, finding joy in social interactions, and has an innate appreciation for the quaint charm of antique, rustic artifacts. He's known to be a bit jumpy and easily startled, exhibiting a somewhat timid disposition that some might describe as a touch of cowardice.

In school and even now, Kades was and is known to be a crier. He will always use the old excuse that he only cries so easily due to his water powers. Due to multiple factors including his tendency to cry easy and his love of cute things, Kades has insecurities about his masculinity.
