About

Penumbra was born in Castelia City. Their parents both work with the Battle Company. As a child, they found an abandoned eevee in an alley and raised him until he evolved into umbreon. His name is Psyche, and the irony was accidental. His evolution is what sparked them to specialize in Dark type Pokémon. Their parents wanted them to join the Battle Company, but Penumbra wanted more than that.

They stumbled into Burgh’s gym one time while playing hide and seek with their friends and decided they’d like to one day be a gym leader. Becoming a gym leader is a tedious process, though and they’ve been working at it for five years now. They still aren’t sure if working summer shifts at the Casteliacone stand is actually part of it or just an excuse their parents used. One day while working, they saw a mysterious man with long green hair, who they developed a bit of a crush on. They’ve never seen him since, though.

Anyway, they’re still on their quest to become a gym leader. So far, they’ve only traveled throughout Unova, but they’re saving up to take a trip to Sinnoh soon. They hope to one day see the mysterious green-haired man again, but the world is vast and chances are unlikely. They think they heard something about him in a news report once, but all they know Team Plasma is some grunts stole a bunch of cones a few years back and Penumbra had to sell Casteliabowls for a week.

Psyche Umbreon

Penumbra's first ever Pokémon!! They found him in an alley as an eevee and raised him back to health. It took a while for him to trust them, which is why him being an umbreon was extra exciting.

Amethyst Liepard

The first Pokémon Penumbra ever caught! He battled Psyche when the two were still an eevee and a purrloin. He loves to be pet.

Stopwatch Krookodile

She lead Penumbra out of Desert Resort the first time they got lost. She knows dig, which makes her very valuable for exploring. She likes to dance!

Yarnball Ampharos

She was a gift from Penumbra's uncle. Because she doesn't fit the aesthetic, she doesn't get to battle much, but Penumbra takes her to musicals a lot.

Kayla Sigilyph

Penumbra found her as an egg in the Desert Resort. Like Yarnball, she doesn't get to battle much. Unlike most psychic Pokémon, she isn't scared of dark types, which can be dangerous sometimes. Penumbra is very careful when she's out of her ball.

Luna Absol

Penumbra's latest catch, not very friendly yet.
