Profile

Destiny is one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She is pure of heart and so completely, obviously light aligned. She is incredibly brave and self-sacrificial, and unfailingly takes the lead in any conflict she's a part of, even though she hates fighting. As much as she didn't believe that she was the hero of the prophecy, she has a very strong protective instinct and does everything in her power to keep others safe, and thus became the hero she didn't believe she could be. Due to several events in her life, she's developed an immense distrust of people aligned with darkness, and it takes a lot for her to even begin to trust them. But she also has a unique ability to find the good in nearly anyone and often attempts to play on that to talk them down before using force. She is absolutely incapable of hating another living being, and forgiveness comes easily to her.

STORY:

Destiny Evingar was born when the sun was at its highest point in the sky, just like when her mother was born. No one knows if it has anything to do with the fact that she inherited her mother’s affinity for light magic, though some speculate it might. She grew up in a warm, loving home. Her mother quite literally filled the house with light. The house itself was a tiny little thing, but it was well-kept and always open to guests. Des never bat an eye if there was someone else in the house when she woke up in the mornings. As she grew up, she developed a tendency to run off into dangerous areas to explore. This obviously exasperated both of her parents to no end, and they were constantly recruiting passing adventurers to retrieve her.

When Des was 5 years old, her mother died of a sickness that not even magic could cure. She had spent a long time watching her mother grow weak—too weak to even go outside and manipulate the sunbeams the way she loved so much. It had been hard to watch her mother’s bright light dim so slowly and painfully. The entire town of Ashcrest went into mourning when Nora Evingar finally passed. Des cried into her father’s arms for hours after the funeral, until she was out of tears and too tired to stay awake anymore. It took her weeks to recover enough to be a normal child again.

When Des was 6, she wandered off like usual, got lost, and ended up in Doomwood. A necromancer found her and took her to his lair, where he imprisoned her as he tried to devise a way to take her magic for his own. Her father, frantic that she couldn’t be found, went to Lady Celestia, and after tracking her to Doomwood, she sent a young Artix to rescue her, as he knew Doomwood best at the time. Artix broke into the necromancer’s lair and rescued Des, and they almost made it out before the necromancer caught them. They might have lost were it not for Des’s magic suddenly bursting out, blasting the necromancer away and allowing them to escape. Des finally learned to be more cautious, and soon after began to study how to control her powers. This was also the beginning of her and Artix’s friendship.

Book 1: The Elemental Orbs
As Destiny sets off on her adventure, great power is stirring through the land. Sensing this, she is drawn to a cliff outside of Oaklore Keep, where she encounters the Priestess Celestia and her Moglin friend Twilly. There, she learns that she is part of an ancient prophecy involving two special dragon eggs and a fight for the fate of Lore itself. While at the Keep, Des meets Galliteo Annesley, who is essentially Captain Rolith's adopted daughter, and Galliteo accompanies her on her quest to rescue Lady Celestia from bandits. They encounter Drakath, the deposed prince, and also his childhood rival Angel Reed, who joins their party and helps them recover the Black Dragon Box. Traveling to Falconreach leads them to meet and befriend Kari Hayle and Lizzy Dow, and venturing into Amityvale facilitates meeting Yolie Sparkspire and Jaxon Delamere. All of them quickly band together and become close friends. When the egg from the Black Dragon Box finally hatches, Des names the dragon Aura and aligns her with Light. Simultaneously, the egg from White Dragon Box is revealed to be in the possession of the DoomLord Sepulchure, who Drakath works for, and once it hatches he immediately turns the little dragon into a dracolich and names it... Fluffy. Des dons the armor of the DragonLords, and under Lady Celestia's tutelage, learns the ancient secrets of dragon magic.

Upon learning of Sepulchure and his intention to gather the Elemental Orbs and become unstoppable, Des and her friends set off to retrieve them first. Together, the group recovers five Orbs. Des helps the ninjas of the Shadow of the Wind Village wrest the Wind Orb from Okuchi no Okami's grasp, but it disappears, and it is left for Yolie to recover from the pirate Captain Blackberry. Des then helps Artix break into the Necropolis and stop Noxus the Necromancer from raising an undead army for Sepulchure, and they find the Darkness Orb seemingly irretrievably bound to Lady Vayle, a childhood acquaintance of Artix. Des later enlists the SoulWeaver Tomix's help in separating it from Vayle. Meanwhile, Galliteo has found the Light Orb, Kari has retrieved Ice, and Lizzy has recovered Energy. The last three Orbs are lost to Sepulchure. All of the heroes take part in the Great Fire War, but despite their best efforts the Orb is lost and finds its way to Sepulchure's hands. Des starts questing for the Water Orb in the undersea city known as the Locker, but Yolie, worried for her sanity, soon takes her place; the Water Orb is ultimately spirited away by one of Sepulchure's spies. The Earth Orb is snatched away soon after its recreation from the Stone and Nature Orbs.

While hunting for the Orbs, the heroes are thrust into many more adventures. Des takes it upon herself to protect a young girl named Thursday in Amityvale. Thursday is the last living descendant of the vampire Lord Frydae XIII, and he is determined to turn her. Des, however, will not stand for it, and she defeats the vampire lord to protect Thursday. She later is roped into helping Zorbak with an army of dracolich babies, but they pose no threat and are actually irresistibly cute, and the intended invasion turns into the citizens of Amityvale adopting the little babies.

Upon visiting the flying DragonLord city of Dragonsgrasp, Des learns of Vilmor, the most powerful DragonLord alive. Vilmor apparently turned on her dragon partner, the Great Frost Dragon Cryozen, and destroyed the Guardian Tower in the northern city of Bask. Cryozen is dying and currently unable to be located, and the Plane of Frost is crying out in distress. Des decides to help investigate, and not only discovers Vilmor's innocence, but also the plot by DragonMaster Frostscythe to break Cryozen's bond with Vilmor and then bond with the dragon himself. It is also revealed that Frostscythe is Vilmor's childhood friend Donovan, and is half Ice Elf. Des teams up with Vilmor after catching up with her, and together they stop Frostscythe. They are unable to rescue Cryozen before he dies, but he leaves behind an egg, which hatches as Vilmor recovers it. The new dragon immediately imprints on Vilmor, and she names him Cryozen, Jr. in memory of his father. Des attests to Vilmor's innocence and good heart, and the two part as battle-forged friends.

The time finally comes to confront Sepulchure once and for all, and the heroes band together with all of their friends and allies in order to push back his massive undead army. They manage, but not before Sepulchure's flying dracolich crashes into the Guardian Tower, killing many Guardians. Des challenges Sepulchure to a one-on-one duel only to be brutally beaten down. To her horror, he reveals that not only was the army they just defeated only the first wave, but he had also sent Xan to retrieve the newly-hatched son of Akriloth and had Lady Celestia killed. In the ensuing chaos, the Orbs that the heroes had managed to recover are stolen one by one, despite their efforts to protect them. Des eventually leaves to confront Sepulchure in his tower in the Deadlands. Upon meeting him in his throne room, Sepulchure again renders her powerless and then attempts to break the prophecy by forcibly corrupting her with the Necrotic Sword of Doom, turning her into a DoomKnight. Aura escapes and rallies the other heroes and Artix to come to her rescue, and Artix manages to purify Des with nothing less than true love's kiss. Des continues on to the top of the tower, and there is forced to simply watch as Sepulchure merges the orbs into the Ultimate Orb. Then Drakath pulls the ultimate betrayal, stabbing Sepulchure in the back with his own sword, then stealing the Orb and merging with Fluffy to become a giant darkness dragon. Only by teaming up with Sepulchure is Des able to defeat him. Then Sepulchure's master comes and merges with Drakath's body to become the largest darkness dragon ever. He proceeds to blot out all light in the world, even going so far as to eat the sun. Only Falconreach is spared, as magic and gnometech create a light shield to surround the town. Through many time shenanigans courtesy of Cysero, eight iterations of the Bacon Orb are gathered and then merged into their own Ultimate Orb. Des and Aura use its power to fight the darkness dragon, but every wound is merely filled in with shadows. Fluffy calls out to them, telling them to strike at its heart to destroy the Ultimate Orb. The darkness dragon is finally defeated, and light returns to Lore. The prophecy has been fulfilled.

Book 2: Elemental Dissonance

Book 3: The End of Magic
Five years have passed since Kari was frozen by Jaania, and an anti-magic cult known as the Rose has risen to power. Des has spent most of these years seeking out displaced magical beings and giving them shelter in Falconreach, one of the few places left in Greenguard that openly accepts magic. She has also been aiding Tomix and Izaac in clearing out Ravenloss so that it too can house refugees from the Rose, and has even become a SoulWeaver, bound to none other than her own mother Nora, who had also been a SoulWeaver and had become a Light Spirit upon death. Occasionally, Des will actively oppose the Rose, but only in full DragonLord armor, and Rose members and civilians alike who are ignorant of her true identity refer to her as the DragonLord of Light. She is the only known person still in contact with Artix, and they work together when circumstances allow.
