Elyse is an aspiring paranormal investigator, taking time off her university classes to visit places in the city that are rumoured to be haunted. There's no particular reason she's obsessed with ghosts and true crime, she's just really into morbid things, and her close friends often tag along with her, but mostly to make sure she isn't doing anything lethally stupid.
The story starts when one attempt to connect with the afterlife summons a very cynical dead guy.
