Melchior is quiet, not a wolf of many words, and he doesn't enjoy keeping long conversations. He's also quite unsociable and being around talkative wolves and too many sounds often annoys him. If someone needs to talk to him, they better be quick and objective. He's not one to listen to others' rants or complaints, and he's definitely not good at giving advice.

Being independent is also something that contributes to his distant personality. He's never received much attention from his mother, and this made him want to do what he needs by himself.

He is short tempered, easily becoming angery when something doesn't go his way, or when someone is being annoying around him. He doesn't hold back his words and actions, being impulsive, which can lead him into doing things he shouldn't. He may regret it later on, but he just doesn't learn to think first.

Despite his usual aloof display, Melchior is loyal and does stick around those who earned his trust. With some determination, it is possible to be around this guy without making him too disgruntled. He might still seem like a bad humored geezer at times, but in reality he doesn't dislike the company of those who care about him and vice versa.

Melchior definitely isn't one to tuck his tail in between his legs when confronted. He is brave and will stand his ground and face whatever is in front of him - even if he doesn't stand a chance against his foe. He's not weak nor a coward, and doesn't want others calling him that.

But, on top of everything, he is lazy, and idle time is the best time for him. If Melchior can just lay his butt all day, he won't mind it in the slightest. The others can all go and do what they have to do while he just enjoys his own time. Unless he's ordered around or in need of something, he probably won't move an inch.
