Boone Sommerfel

Boone is a rather tall with a slender build. He carries himself a bit awkwardly, but has very good posture. The awkwardness stemming from a tendency to be overly conscious. Often making slight adjustments to his stance such as standing straighter or moving slightly more out of the way. Boone has brown skin with warm undertones and deep brown hair that he keeps shorn close to his head. His facial features read gentle, with warm brown eyes with a circle of gold in them and soft expressions. He has somewhat long pointed ears as typical of a half-elf.

Boone wears simple clothing most of the time and favors warm colors. He likes comfortable sweaters and clean looking tunics. As he is more exposed to more clothing types out in the wide world, he finds himself more curious about trying new fashions. With adventuring his attire now includes a chain shirt.

Compassionate: Boone has an abundance of empathy. He is quick to get invested in the plights of others, and desires to help them. Boone can put too much of himself into this care and takes it hard when he fails. When he can help someone though, he is grateful that he was able to do something good. 

Curious: Boone has a love for the world around him. He was very sheltered, only leaving his home town when it came to church business. Now that he is free to explore it, he finds himself curious about everything. He wants to talk to people, to see and try new things, and expand his knowledge. He is also curious about religion and the lost history of his god. His own experience is so different from other people's and he wants to understand that more.

Anxious: Boone's upbringing left him with an overwhelming need to feel comfortable doing things. Acting shamefully or having different ideas got you shut down, and Boone was supposed to be a good example for others. He is always worried about doing things right and not making incorrect decisions. Part of this stems from his natural compassionate nature, wanting to right by others, but his anxiety can get the best of him and become overbearing. Causing him to hesitate or become overwhelmed very easily. 

Passive: Along side and possible because of the anxiousness Boone also has a tendency to be passive and tries to avoid stepping on anyone's toes. He has trouble bringing up any issues or pushing back on things. He has a tendency to take things in as negatives on himself rather than confront someone about the situation. He then internalizes that feeling, though he doesn't realize he is doing it. As a result of all this he has trouble articulating his feelings as he gets worried about giving off the wrong impression, he'd much rather deal with them on his own where he won't mess up. 

This is a somewhat abridged version for the sake of secrecy, as my party members can see this page. 

Boone was a quiet kid with a good nature. An easy child to handle, unlike his rowdy twin. He had a fairly peaceful if strict upbringing. Then when he was twelve Boone had a vision from The Everlight, a rather big deal in the small religious town of Fairveiw, and about a year later was revealed to have the powers of a Cleric. Father Kendrick, the head of the town church and a leader in the community, took him under his wing. He became an assistant to the clergy and began spending a good chunk of his time at the cathedral. Around this same time his brother was getting into a lot of trouble and Boone was seeing him less and less often. Then when they were 16 Hermes ran away, disappearing from his life entirely. Boone felt lost and confused by this and only had what Father Kendrick told him to go by. His brother was a lost cause. Still he could not shake the feeling that he had somehow failed his brother. 

Boone worked closely with the church the next few years, becoming more prominent in the community. At age eighteen he took his vows and became an official priest of the Congregation of Light. Around this time his mother's orchard began to produce blessed apples, bringing an era of growth to their community. Then the town began to change. It was renamed Salvation and became entirely dedicated to the church. Things began to feel unsettling to Boone, until one day something finally pushed him far enough to flee. He left and told no one where he was going.

On the road, having given up everything he thought he knew, Boone latched onto an idea to keep him going. He was going to find his brother. He never knew what had really happened to him, so he headed to the closest city to gather what little clues he could. He ended up heading west across the continent, through the dividing planes. He traveled with various caravans for safety and met a lot of people on the road. The world was large and full of so many people. He spent a lot of time learning new skills, this included bardic magic. He found a lot to love about his new found freedom, despite the feelings of guilt and dread the thought of home now brought. 

Eventually he made his way all the way to the city of Emon on the opposite coast. To the Yawning Portal tavern, where a familiar blue face greeted him.
