Clairine was given to the Montblanc family, a prominent elven house, as a gift for saving the life of her father. She was raised to be the perfect devotee to the family's patron goddess, Ghasmera. She is the youngest of her family, having 3 other sisters. When she was very young, she badly injured her leg, but instead of having the leg healed, her family had it amputated to further lend credence to the idea she was an elf, not an Aasimar. Sheltered through her life, Clairine decided to leave her family at 16 and traveled to offer her healing abilities to a nearby town suffering from war with a Goblin tribe. There, she met the love of her life, a Half-Orc named Meruba. When Meruba was injured and nearly killed in battle one day, it was Clairine who brought her back to health. For various reasons, Meruba and Clairine separated after the war was won, with Clairine returning to her family and continuing as a Cleric of Ghasmera. Some years after, Clairine got info that Meruba was sighted heading into the Underdark (info she later found was misinformed), so she left suddenly to find her love. In the Underdark, she met her best friend, a Drow priestess who left her faith. Ghasmera was not understanding, however, and asked Clairine to kill her new friend. Clairine refused, and lost her Cleric powers. Eventually she came back to the surface, renounced her faith, found out she was an Aasimar, and she and her family decided to follow a better god. She was eventually reunited with Meruba, and they lived happily ever after.
