One of the main five heroes called by the Gods to prepare for impending doom. Lau is the good boy of the group, genuinely nice and works hard to keep his new friend's hopes up. Doesn't give up on anyone, maybe because he believes in them or maybe because he's just really akward and doesn't know when to stop. Either works.
Appreciates the small things in life. Will stop the group to come look at a frog sitting on a rock, or go on a 10min rant about why roosters are better than hens. He is so amazed by the world around him and tries not to take it for granted, but watch out! Despite all this wonder and happiness there's still something off about this boy.
Pre-plot Lau lived alone deep in the south forests of Hylia on his farm. Dangerously close to becoming a crazy forest hermit. Maybe he already was. He will talk for hours about his family, which only includes his horse and flock of chickens.

Trivia
•He and Shinari cannot sleep and they bond the most at 4am when the rest of the group is asleep.
•His wolf pelt is a big part of his design BUT! It's not based on anything cultural, and more of a fursuit of his old anthro design. It seems to be real fur, but Lau would NEVER hunt another animal? He says it was one of the only things he was able to take from his home as a child and does not know the significance of it. Just makes him feel safe. Scares off pretadors in the forest.
•Do not mistake good and innocent for being shy. He is NOT a "can't ask someone for more ketchup" kind of guy but he IS ALSO "I will make my girlfriend get it for me" High functioning social anxiety? Would just prefer not to be in these situations to begin with.
•Only eats plants and fish! Prescatarian! One of my fav interactions in the story is Shinari is hunting a turkey and Lau kicks her bow out of her hands then apologizes profusely while they go look for her arrow. I don't think Lau could've continued the story if he saw a turkey sniped 10min into their adventure.

Shinari
Lau's best friend and partner this is not a spoiler it is obvious. HOWEVER throughout the main story their relationship is entirely platonic!! Shinari says the first time she realized "oh no I love him" is when he told Shinari he has a weapon of his own at home and then whipped out a giant stick that he uses to chase hawks away from his chickens.
Shi
New best friends! Lau, Shinari, and Shi are a strong trio in the story. They met eachother early on in their journey and has been through a lot in such a short amount of time together. Lau managed to cut Shi's tough defenses down in record time.
Ruto
Lau & Ruto got along very well, she has a lot of heart-to-hearts with Lau, and just offers to be there when he needs someone to push him in the right direction. Has absolutely cornered Shinari and gave her the "so you want to date my new son" talk.
