    Squirrelkit was born to a loving a doting mother called Salmonwish. The molly was still young when she decided to have her kits, selecting to find a donor after having little luck finding a mate. Squirrelkit and his siblings, Orchidkit and Riptidekit were all strong and healthy, the family seemed as happy as could be.
Up until the disappearance of his mother Salmonwish that is, but Squirrelkit always believed she would return someday and never gave himself or his siblings a chance to mourn for her. He was often rude and crass to his adoptive mother Lynxpatch. Even more so after the passing of his sister Orchidkit.
It was a difficult time for Hailclan, as many cats went missing or passed on, but Squirrelkit was too young and stubborn to really understand.

apprenticeship [ 6 - 12 moons ] >
   Now becoming an apprentice, Squirrelpaw gained not only a mentor and a new name but also a slight maturity. Acceptance and gratitude, for all the work Lynxpatch put towards him but the other troubled kits of Hailclan. It was clear by now that his mother wasn't coming back, he put the thought to the back of his mind to focus on his training ahead. But even still, he held onto the sliver of hope that Salmonwish was out there somewhere. Eventually, Squirrelpaw started to open up more to his clanmates, particularly a young she-cat named Lilacpool.

  Near the end of his apprenticeship, Squirrelpaw went on a hunting patrol up the mountain with a large group of cats. His close friend Lilacpool was among them, as well as his brother Riptidepaw. But it was an awkward journey because several of the warriors involved had been in an argument just nights before. Doing his best to ignore the tension of his clanmates, Squirrelpaw was excited to try and catch a larger piece of prey and even more so to compete against Riptidepaw for one last time before they became warriors.
However, this patrol was cut short when a hawk swooped down and snatched Riptidepaw from the ground. Thankfully the cats acted quickly, startling the bird into dropping his brother before it flew too high. Riptidepaw was left with a nasty scar and was rather shaken, but he was alive. The group escorted him back to camp and into the medicine cat den.

warriorhood [12+ moons ] >
  Squirrelnose was given his name for his hunting abilities and his strong sense of smell. His brother having recovered quickly from his frightful experience was given the name Riptidescar. Frankly, Squirrelnose thought his brother's new name sounded more 'cool', but being named for his abilities was alright too.

    Squirrelnose and Lilacpool only grew closer now, the pair spending much of their time together. Because of how things were between her and her sisters, Squirrelnose offered Lilacpool to let her sleep in the den he shared with Riptidescar, this helped to further increase the time spent in one another's company, but neither seemed to mind it one bit.
Cloudclan was forced to flee and were now occupying Hailclan's camp as a result of two-legs overrunning the cloudclan moors. Things became crowded and loud all the time, it really irked Squirrelnose at times. But he understood the value of helping their ally clan get back on their paws.
In the following moons, just before the festival of snow, Squirrelnose and Lilacpool took a quiet walk to escape some of the commotions of their busy home. They headed up the mountain to the top of Crystal falls, where the pair could enjoy the view and peace the place had to offer. It was there that Squirrelnose confessed to Lilacpool how he felt, and asked her if she wanted to become his mate.

    Squirrelnose and Lilacpool towards the end of leaf-bare. Sometimes Squirrelnose worried he wasn't doing things right, he had no idea what a proper relationship between two warriors was supposed to look like. Not to mention... He'd never really considered having a family beyond his remaining brother and now...
Lilacpool was pregnant with his kits. The two of them were going to become parents together.
During his mate's pregnancy, however, the situation with the two-legs escalated and Hailclan and Cloudclan were forced to flee to Emberclan. The three were joined by Marshclan only a moon later, all four clans forced to live together in the cramped emberclan caves. Their kits would be born during this time, furthering the anxiety the couple had. The only silver lining would be that at least they would have four medicine cats and two medicine cats apprentices to assist them.

    Despite to commotion and a steady decrease in prey to go around, Squirrelnose and Lilacpool had three healthy kits together. Their oldest son, Salmonkit, was named after Squirrelnose's mother. Their youngest daughter was named Harekit, after Lilacpool's father. And Sparrowkit their middle son was given a more unique name to complete the set. Regardless of Squirrelnose's feelings of apprehension towards being a father, he had to admit that his small family were perfect.
The tom spent much of his time either hunting or with his family, bonding with his kits and mate and slowly easing himself into becoming the father figure his kits needed. He'd never had a father himself, and his mother disappeared while he was still young, so he couldn't know for sure if he was doing it right, but at least the five of them were happy.

    Cloudclan and Marshclan soon moved out of Emberclan's territory, many of the cats who went missing were found, and before too long Hailclan was able to return home again. Squirrelnose could hardly wait to show his kits the place he'd grown up in, the place they would call home.

Their kits grew quickly before he knew it Salmonkit, Sparrowkit, and Harekit were being named apprentices and given their mentors. Squirrelnose trusted that Kitestar had chosen well. Although he was surprised when he was given one of Kitestar's own kits as an apprentice. Amberpaw was a jumpy little tom, but Squirrelnose hoped he'd be able to grow into a proper warrior someday.

Cloudclan cats once again took shelter in Hailclan's land. This time the cats seemed... more frightened, many arriving with wounds. A new group of rogues had taken over their camp, Squirrelnose wondered what they were to do about it. But... Rogues should be easier to chase off than two-legs at least.

Those thoughts would come back to bite him as his apprentice Amberpaw came back permanently blinded in a battle against the rogues. If he had gone with them... If he had taken the threat more seriously, maybe he could have prevented it from happening. Now he sits outside the Medicine den waiting for his apprentice to recover. Would Amberpaw ever become a warrior? What would happen now? Could he even teach a blind apprentice?
Squirrelnose was lost, but maybe his mate Lilacpool would know how to help. She was half-blind herself and might be able to help him teach Amberpaw the rest of the skills he needed to learn.

Rogues continue to plague the clan cats, this time a raid on Hailclan's camp which had caught everyone off guard. Squirrelnose had to fight, he couldn't let anyone else he cared about get hurt. Not to these rat-hearts. At first, Squirrelnose stayed close to the medicine den, but as the battle went on he wound up being drawn away. He fought against a skilled tom and was left with scars on his belly.
The rogues called for a retreat, at first he was relieved. But then as the clan began to lick their wounds they discovered the medicine den raided and their elder medicine cat Fogflower dead. If only he had guarded the den more carefully, if only he had been a better fighter, if only if only... None of those would help Fogflower now.

His kits became warriors at last and while Amberpaw would remain an apprentice for a while longer, Squirrelnose often went to Lilacpool for help in mentoring the now blind tom.

The rogues were chased out completely and Cloudclan was allowed to return home. Squirrelnose wound up with a couple of new scars for his troubles.

Finally, Ambermask earned his warrior name too and while Squirrelnose worried over the young tom, he was proud of his apprentice for making it so far.
Now all he had to do was worry about his own kits again as Harefeather, Salmonflight, and Sparrowchirp each made a name for themselves and continued to grow.
He and Lilacpool would have to find a way to gather everyone together so they could all catch up again soon.

Lilacpool finally got her own apprentice, a spunky young she-cat named Owlpaw. Lilacpool had been wanting an apprentice for some time and Squirrelnose was sure she was going to do great with her.

Owlhop earned her warrior name, and Lilacpool and Squirrelnose decided to try for their second litter. Lilacpool became pregnant and the two were quite excited to watch their second litter grow up and do just as well as their older siblings.
War was declared between the four clans and Squirrelnose had to admit that he and Lilacpool always seemed to have the worst timing when looking to expand their family. But regardless of the stress, Lilacpool gave birth to two healthy kits.
These kits were named Fawnkit and Featherkit.

When on patrol one day, he and the others ran across an Emberclan patrol. A fight broke out when the young Hailclan apprentices were goaded into attacking. Squirrelnose charged in, refusing to let his classmates, especially those young apprentices or his two adult kits who were also taking part, be hurt. He fought against an Emberclan tom named Tigerfrost, but even though they fought hard, Squirrelnose was defeated and even killed when he refused to back down.

Squirrelnose will continue to watch over his family from Starclan, and he's sorry he can't be around to watch his little ones grow, or be there when his grand-kits are born, but he doesn't regret dying to protect his clan.
