The eldest of two siblings, Stella had a relatively normal childhood - her younger sibling was often sickly and usually bedridden. This had two effects on Stella - she became very protective and very sociable, bored without anyone to play with, and willing to die for her sibling if any kids dared bully them. Most people didn't even know she wasn't an only child half the time.
