About
Founder and head detective of The Seance Agency of Detectives (SAD). Fortis relies entirely on luck, intuition, and mysticism to solve cases, and somehow, it works? She is very cheery, and easily excited. She has no concept of her own stupidity, and plows ahead regardless of consequences. She talks big even when she is totally wrong (and she never knows when she is wrong). Her lifeblood is positive feedback, which is probably one of the reasons she adores Gilly so much. Her greatest nemesis is the phantom thief Onyx who haunts their city stealing pieces of art, who she just cannot catch!!!
Fortis is definitely not a cop, and though she sometimes assists them, they often don't want her back. Unlucky for them, the spirits are on her side, and she always manages to end up at the crime scene through sheer force of will.
Relationships
Gilly Fern: Fortis' protege and friend. She loves having a pupil to teach in the ways of detecting and of the supernatural. She spoils Gilly a bit, but it's always deserved! Fortis considers Gilly very fashionable and artistic and lets her design their business cards and decorate the lobby.
Alonzo: Fortis has no idea her in-house psychic is a plant from the Obsidian Phantom Thieves. She looks to him for guidance from the world beyond! She's sometimes concerned for him since he seems amazed by simple union rights like vacation and overtime pay, so she does her best to remind him of his rights as an employee of SAD!
Fhure Canem: Fhure is her twin brother/sister (depending on the day), though the two of them do not look anything alike. Fhure disappears a lot, but whenever he's around, Fortis welcomes her sibling into her home!
