bio
note: hamild is based on d&d lore, but not a character meant to be played. his backstory, as with most my other characers, is not to show he is right, but to show that both he and his family have made mistakes. hamild is a lone traveller at heart. he enjoys seeing places, local literature, and simply helping people. as a druid, he has a strong connection with every plant around him, to the point of caring about flora more than some people he meets. oddly enough, he has taken an interest in healing others, and is a skilled physician. he is publically angry at his missing arm, though never explains why. those who meet hamild know him as a calm individual with no way of huring others despite his size. he's often seen reading one old tome or another, with seemingly an endless thirst for knowledge. he cares for those hurt with the use of his magic, which makes his sprout small leaves all over his dull scales. privately, hamild has always tried to develop the art of necromancy, with bringing people back to life as a goal, though his trials have been failures. fearing the reactions of people hearing about such taboo experiments, he keeps this a secret from his friends, even after using one such spell to revive a friend killed by "a minor mortal wound". relationships reed hamild feels extremely close to the wood elf, considering him his closest friend. hamild sees reed as the only one who "gets" him. he is comfortable sharing thoughts and feelings with reed, who is one of the few people who know he isn't actually reading history books. over time, reed encourages hamild to develop his plant-based powers in order to make himself the prosthetic arm he's always wanted. neela hamild sees neela as a leader, and not much more. she is aearon's gossip "bestie", and reed's sparring partner. he appreciates the times she sticks up for him in arguments with aearon, and the fact that she's quiet when he reads. they get on, but that's all for hamild. aearon aearon has strong negative feelings towards hamild, therefore hamild considers it "deserved" for him to mirror the behaviour. hamild is nowhere near as angry at aearon as aearon is at hamild, resulting in hamild often being bullied by the elf. when aearon is mortally wounded, hamild brings him back to life and nurtures him back to health, much to the elf's surprise, who didn't expect his enemy to help him in peril. hamild accepts the nickname "hemi" given by the elf. ares & the family ares is hamild's hatchmate. they came out of their egg conjointed in their arms. after seeing this, their father takes it upon himself to separate the two. seeing as he couldn't split 3 arms fairly between two hatchlings, he made the choice to give the stronger of the two the arm, and named him ares, like the strong god of warfare. their father paid more attention to his stronger son, training him, and giving him more responsibility, while neglecting hamild. hamild feels these actions were injustices done towards him, never forgiving ares for "stealing" his arm. "ares' arm sprouts leaves when i use magic, so clearly it was meant to be mine, the gods gave it to me." hamild sees his mother as the only friendly person, and after her sudden death (and hamild's first failed necromantic experiment), he feels not only disconnected from his home, but also obligated to leave due to constant fighting in the household, as well as the scorn of his family. upon returning, hamild is hostile towards ares and his father, purposefully huring another being for the first time in his life. |
