About

Ichika Minawa was born into her respective clan and raised by her father. Her mother passed away when she was young. She doesn’t have many memories of her and doesn’t like to fixate on her either. Preferring to keep things as they are and remembering her through Ichika’s father’s point of view. Ichika’s father, however, was always a constant figure for her to look up to and learn from. From as long as she can remember, he’s always been there to help her with anything and everything. Studying, playing, reading, and whatever else she could learn. Because her father took such an interest in seeing her succeed and being there for her, Ichika felt like she couldn’t let him down. She strove to make him proud.

When she started studying at the Ninja Academy, her strive to make her father proud only increased. She studied as hard as she could to be the best in her class. Doing anything and everything she could to prove her worth. To further encourage her, Ichika’s father used to tell her stories about his missions. Usually embellishing the details so not to reveal mission information. Some of his embellished stories involved him saving someone and so on. It fed her imagination like wood to a flame. Pushing her to believe that if she explored the world, she’d find her prince charming as well.

After she graduated, her belief to find her prince charming only continued to motivate her. She also was pushed into wanting to make her father proud -- and her clan by association as well.

Personality

Ichika is a very kind girl who tries to be as polite and considerate as she can. She rarely speaks out of turn and tends to keep her opinions to herself. She doesn’t like to be a bother to people and will internalize her own issues and problems. Alternatively, the moment she sees someone is bothered by something, she will try and help them out. It’s easy to tell something’s on her mind as her poker face is terrible but whether she’ll talk about it is another matter entirely. She feels more comfortable writing her thoughts down or expressing them through calligraphy. Anything else is just foreign to her.

She does tend to live with her head in the clouds, however. As she reads a lot of romantic poems and fairy tales. Believing that there’s a “prince charming” out there for her somewhere. It does motivate her to be more outworldly and try to go out of her comfort zone. Although, it also places a very unrealistic point of view to the world. Such as believing that there’s a “fairy godmother” (or something close to it) that’s helping her out.

She’s also pretty naive and will fall for a lie or two. She’s more of a bookworm than lateral thinker. She’s gullible and just terrible with placing her trust in people. She assumes quite a bit, such as “all Kitsune are barbaric” or “all Asukai are godly” and tends to roll with it. While it does slightly conflict with her not wanting to offend people, she doesn’t think she’s doing so. She does believe most of the scrolls she reads are 100% true regardless of the source. So if it’s been notarized, then it’s gotta be true.

Relationships

Minawa Keizo [ Father ]

Ichika's father has been attentive and supportive towards his daughter since the passing of his wife. Keizo has always given Ichika a motive to try and explore the world outside of the stories she was told as a child. He worries that her head is to buried in the clouds and that she isn't tethering herself to an obtainable goal. Simply "finding her prince charming" is nice, but he hopes that she starts to take life a little more seriously. When Rika passed away, Keizo told Ichika stories. Saving up to buy fairy tale scrolls so he could entertain his daughter and take away the pain of losing her mother. Eventually, she became obsessed with the idea that her prince charming was out there and waiting to be found. He hopes that she does find him one day and is able to live in happiness but he does also worry that she's too enveloped by the idea to notice anything else around her.

Minawa Rika [ Mother | Deceased ]

Rika passed away when Ichika was a child. She doesn't remember much about her mother other than her voice. Something which comes to her every now and then. She visits her mother's grave with her father as often as they're able to do so. She hopes that her mother is guiding her along her journey.
