Dreamer and Dominic met through the Counterspell before Dominic knew very much about magic, and Dreamer helped him pick a few things up! Dreamer also helped Dominic with his nightmares, giving him the first night of good sleep he'd had in a long while. They just kept talking to each other, and became good friends.
Dominic and Helianthus are both relatively new to learning about the magical world, and Dominic always feels better when he has a study partner. Helianthus has become that for him -- their magics are complimentary, which makes for some interesting combinations when they put their heads together, and Helianthus is just a plain good friend. Dominic likes him a lot.
Dominic was the first person to find Gossamer, even before he knew anything about magic, and Gossamer hasn't forgotten that. While he may seem aloof to others, Gossamer has confided in Dominic about his fears and regrets, and Dominic considers Gossamer a friend.
Large, fluffy, light-teal dragon. His belly and face are white, and his tail is long and very furry. He has horns on his head, spines on his back, and sharp nails, and all of them are strangely shiny. His pawpads are a pale peach color.
