He is the largest member of the team and easily towers over everyone. He is also not pale! You would think he is the strongest member physically and the attacker of the team, but that actually goes to Nigami. I just find it really funny that someone so much smaller than him can be stronger.

- As is required of every member of the Demon Research team, he also knows JSL. In fact, he was the one who originally made the suggestion that everyone know it, as not only would it help give Mau another way of communicating with the group, it opened up a way to pass on information nonverbally.
- Coming from a rich family, Haru funds most of the projects and equipment the team needs. He bought most of Akane's medical books and he was the one to find Mau her dance teacher.
- Haru may be one of the only people who doesn't mind Giyuu. He's only met Giyuu a handful of times, but he's come to enjoy his presence.
- Haru was trained to fight demons by his uncle. Although his parents initially didn't approve of his choice to join the Demon Slaying Corps, his natural talent and strength has made him one of its strongest members.
- Haru was considered a potential candidate as Himejima's tsuguko. Although initially interested and he did train under him for some time, he ultimately stopped in favor of helping the research team.

The two originally did not get along. When he was younger, Haru viewed women as unsuited for fighting. Nigami hated him for this, thought he didn't understand why. After a fight with Nigami that resulted in his lose, he's come to be more open-minded and he greatly respects Nigami. Over time, they've gotten closer and helped each other in numerous ways.
Haru's natural talent and strength sparked Himejima's interest and he was offered to become his tsuguko. Though Haru originally accepted and came to study under him for a while, he ultimately decided to dedicate himself to the Demon Research team and stepped down from the position of tsuguko. He still holds great respect and gratitude to Himejima for everything that he's done.
Although originally wary of Mau and her past involvement with a demon, Haru has come to warm up to Mau and even views her as a younger sister. When Nigami was lost on how to teach Mau how to fight and how to take care of her, Haru walked the two through better communication skills and worked closely with them to ensure Mau was properly taken care of. He's incredibly protective over Mau and will not hesitate to intervene if he feels she is being threatened or is uncomfortable in any way. In their down time, Haru is always seen playing the Koto for Mau while she dances.
