About

Juniper is of royal rank, a princess to be exact - the daughter of the Bumblebun queen, Vienna. However, she was nurtured, hatched and raised by a Mothcat princess, Asta of the Northern Mothcats, due to extenuating circumstances. This unusual upbringing did no harm to Juniper; in fact, she thrived in the care of Asta and the Mothcat community. There were plenty of other Bumblebuns in the neighborhood for her to interact with, so she never felt odd or out of place.

Within a very short time after her birth, Juni showed herself to be a real darling with a sweet, loving personality. She enjoys meeting new people and making friends, playing energetic games, being groomed, and cuddling. Much like a Northern Mothcat, she also has some abilities relating to the cold. She can lower the temperature around herself enough to make snow and ice in the immediate vicinity. She often practices this ability in the hopes of one day being able to make her own ice cream, which is her favorite snack.

Juniper is now fully grown and a mother herself, with twin Bumblebun children to look after. She loves them dearly and is an attentive and doting mother.

Story Summary

Juniper's birth mother is Vienna, the Bumblebun queen, but Juniper has barely seen or spent much time with her. Juni doesn't really view Vienna as her mother as much as she does Asta, who raised her. Vienna knew this would happen and is not upset as long as her daughter is safe and happy. Because the queen had so many eggs to look after, it had often become necessary for her to entrust the care some of them to her most responsible and dependable children, and this was the case with Juni's egg. It was given to a common male Bumblebun named Cacao. Cacao took the golden egg everywhere with him and guarded it steadfastly, even taking time to curl up with it and keep it warm to help it hatch.

Then one day, he met a Mothcat in Amity Park who was looking for a Bumblebun to be her companion. The Mothcat had a very regal air and claimed to be a princess, and she even offered to give Cacao a noble title if he would agree to be her friend. Cacao thought he could possibly be friends with this Mothcat, but he didn't want to be her companion - he had to be free to come and go as he pleased and wouldn't want to stay in Morel Hollow with her all the time. But maybe... Cacao knew the queen would not be able to raise all of her children herself, and it might actually be helpful if the little Bumblebun princess could be raised by this Mothcat princess. Cacao decided to leave the egg for Princess Asta and hop away, but he kept careful watch on the Mothcat from afar during the following months to make sure the egg was being well cared for. He needn't have worried - Asta treated the egg as her dearest treasure.

After about five months, the egg finally hatched and Juniper was born, bringing much joy to Princess Asta and everyone else around her. She was sweet, cuddly, loveable and completely adorable. But as Bumblebun females usually do, Juni has grown up fast and become a mother herself. Her sweet, childlike personality has not changed, but she now cares for her two little ones as well, and she is a nurturing and attentive mother. She maybe dotes on the babies too much, especially her son, but with the help of Asta and her other friends and family, Juniper will do very well.

Main Relationships *

Asta [ Best friend; mother figure ] Asta raised Juni from an egg to be her best friend and companion, and Juni fills that role well and happily. She remembers hearing Asta's voice through the shell of her egg, and thinks of Asta more as her mother than she does her actual mother, Queen Vienna.

Puca [ Son ] Puca is a bit clingy and easily frightened, so he tends to stay around Juni a lot. Juni always comforts him and encourages him to play and explore with his sister and friends, but she won't continue to push him if he still seems reluctant. It's possible she may unconsciously favor him because he seems to need her so much and doesn't take off on his own much like his sister does.

Mielle [ Daughter ] Mielle is a girly girl in some ways, but also likes exploring and rough-and-tumble play, so she spends lots of time out running around with her friends as she gets a bit older. Juni loves spending time with Mielle and often takes to excessively grooming her when they are together as a bonding activity. Even if Juni seems to dote on Puca more, she very much values the mother/daughter bond as something special and tries to cultivate it whenever possible.

Cacao [ Brother ] Cacao is one of Queen Vienna's older children who was tasked with caring for one of the royal eggs. After leaving the egg in Princess Asta's care, he kept a close eye on her to make sure she took good care of it. After Juni's hatchday, Cacao continued to come by and spend time with the little Princess. Juni looks up to him a lot and is very grateful to him for taking care of her and finding her such a wonderful friend. She's also very impressed that he's a knight, thanks to Asta.
