Personality/Bio:

Asta is the princess of the Northern Mothcats. Originally arriving on a mission to establish trade between the north and south, she never dreamed that her retinue actually intended to leave her behind in Aldora, despite their claims that she was looking for a new home. She thought that was just what they were saying to show friendly intentions toward the Aldoran Mothcats, and that maybe she'd spend a week or two there at most and then go home. But such was not to be. Stuck in a foreign land indefinitely, she was at first extremely angry and prone to lashing out, but over time she grudgingly accepted her new situation and decided to try her best to survive it and possibly even make the best of it.

Even though it may be hard to tell a face value, Asta is actually nice person at heart who just has a cold and grumpy exterior because she doesn't know how to be around people yet. She is an only child who was given anything and everything she wanted by her parents her whole life and became very spoiled and bratty. However, she didn't get much of the one thing she wanted most, which was her parents' attention. They were always so busy and preoccupied with running their kingdom that they usually left their daughter in the care of nannies or servants with orders to make the Princess happy, which usually meant catering to her every whim. If she ever didn't get what she wanted, she threw tantrums and broke things and so forth, but a lot of that was done in the hope that when the king and queen found out, they would be so angry that  they would actually come and punish her themselves and prove that they actually cared about what she did. But that didn't happen much, if at all.

When the king and queen finally began paying more attention to Asta, it was because she was growing up and it was time to think about getting her ready to take their place as ruler. Unfortunately, they had kind of created a monster in that Asta was much too selfish and spoiled to be a queen. She wouldn't put her subjects' well-being first and would ill use her power. Something had to be done. The king and queen therefore came up with the idea of sending her to Aldora to establish trade, which was something that had to be done anyway. They hoped that while performing her first service to her kingdom, the Princess would learn something about how to coexist with other Mothcats and think of others before herself, and generally become more fit to rule. The fact that they had most of the other envoys come home and essentially abandon Asta there was because they knew it was going to take a lot of time for her to learn all this and that it would require isolation from enablers such as the palace servants, who were conditioned after so many years to obey the Princess, and yes, even the king and queen themselves. The Aldoran Mothcats would be respectful to the Princess and her station, but they wouldn't treat her like she was so far above them that she didn't have to respect them back.

During the Snow Wars,  working together with some of the Mothcats in a snowball fight against their leaders both helped Asta work off some of her anger and started teaching her some social skills to start her on the road to becoming a worthy leader. She still can't help being somewhat haughty and anitsocial, but everyone is really patient with her because they can tell that beneath it all, her intentions are good.

Relationships:

Juniper: Best friend/almost-daughter; Juniper is a Bumblebun that Asta raised from an egg to be her best friend and companion. Asta feels that the way she came into possession of Juni's egg is nothing short of miraculous, especially given how her companion-hunting in Amity Park had been going up until that moment. From the very first, she treated that egg as her dearest treasure and cared for it with delight as it took five long months to hatch. Now that Juni is with her, Asta doesn't feel quite as lonely on Aldora anymore and feels perhaps a little more inclined to participate in events and meet new people, if only just to make sure Juni is enjoying herself.

Puca: "Nephew"; Juniper's son. Asta has told him and his sister to call her their Aunt. She loves them as much as she loves Juni and enjoys lavishing them with gifts and attention. She even gave them noble titles since they are of noble class. She is especially protective of Puca given his timid tendencies and the fact that he sometimes gets picked on. She won't hesitate to use every ounce of her intimidating royal majesty to scare off anyone who dares to mess with him.

Mielle: "Niece"; Juniper's daughter. Asts has told her and her brother to call her their aunt. She loves them as much as she loves Juni and enjoys lavishing them with gifts and attention. She even gave them noble titles since they are of noble class. Asta likes to give Mielle lessons in how to be regal and poised as a highborn Mothcat or Bumblebun should be and to help her dress up to look the part. She hopes to one day give Mielle a tiara like the first one she had as a Mothkitten, perhaps even pass on the actual tiara to her.

Cacao: friend; a Bumblebun that Asta tried to convince to be her companion in Amity Park. He rejected Asta, but did leave behind a golden Bumblebun egg for her so that she could have a royal companion once it hatched. She was so grateful to Cacao, and so impressed that only he among all the Bbuns she'd met knew how to treat a Princess, despite being of common rank, that she decided to make him a knight. She actually would have preferred to give him a higher title, but knight was all he wanted. Now Asta always looks favorably on Cacao and tries to sneak him snacks and little goodies when no one else is looking

Angeline: former Anakitten teammate in the Snow Wars/friend??; she's kind of an older sister figure to Asta, encouraging her and guiding her to learn to be a better person. Angie is very caring and patient, so even Asta finds herself warming up to the chubby brown Mothcat on occasion.

Chipper and Paddy:  former Anakitten teammate in the Snow Wars and his little pal; always cheerful and friendly, Chipper often teams up with Paddy to get Asta to lighten up and have fun. Their high spirits and frequent singing tend to get on Asta's nerves, but if she was being honest, she'd have to admit that sometimes they can be just a little bit entertaining. She will never admit it to them, though.

Cam: random tag-along/friend??; a bit of a thorn in Asta's side, but also her friend in a way, if only because Cam decided they should be friends. When everyone else was off at Rion Springs, Cam noticed Asta and thought she looked lonely and decided to be her friend, without consulting Asta about it. Asta never tells the calico to get lost, though, mainly because she is so dazed and confused by Cam's enthusiasm and total lack of fear or intimidation of the Princess that she doesn't know how to say no to her. Asta tends to get bored with whatever Cam wants to do and wander off eventually, though, and sometimes she hides and avoids Cam when she really doesn't want to deal with all that energy and tech speak.

Momochi: former Anakitten teammate in the Snow Wars; she's somewhat like Asta in the grump department, but much less composed about it; Asta finds her antics to be rather amusing sometimes, but rarely interacts with Momo directly. She has a feeling they might clash and get into a grump-off, and no one wants that!

Egglett: part-time servant/minion; being so young, she is easily influenced, and Asta has found that this little Mothkitten makes a great servant due to her willingness to go along with pretty much anything. The fact that Egglett isn't necessarily good at the things Asta wants her to do has to be overlooked due to the lack of a better alternative.

Nahbi and Citadel: weirdos; Asta doesn't exactly mind them, but they make her uneasy with their constant staring and silence and the way they seem to converse with each other using only their eyes. She tolerates their presence but generally doesn't engage them at all.

---

Aldarik: enemy; the northern ambassador, whose title as far as the Princess is concerned should be Traitor. Asta is still really ticked about that abandonment and is not about to let it go anytime soon.
