An avid fisherman, there is nothing that Quill loves more than fly-fishing his favorite mountain rivers and streams, at peace with his surroundings. When he is not out on the water, he enjoys researching local fish and their habitats, as well as tying his own flies - the Adams dry fly is his personal favorite, and he can always be found with one tucked into his fur somewhere. A gentle and patient lad, he is always up for a serene nature walk or quiet picnic.

"all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise."
"I sat there and forgot and forgot, until what remained was the river that went by and I who watched. On the river the heat mirages danced with each other and then they danced through each other and then they joined hands and danced around each other. Eventually the watcher joined the river, and there was only one of us. I believe it was the river."
"At the time I did not know that stories of life are often more like rivers than books."
"What a beautiful world it was once. At least a river of it was."
"poems of geology stretching beyond any boundaries and seemingly even beyond the world."
"...it is not fly fishing if you are not looking for answers to questions."
"it is really fishermen who experience eternity compressed into a moment. No one can tell what a spot of time is until suddenly the whole world is a fish and the fish is gone."
"I hope there are others also who don't mind trees."
"“Nobody,” he said, “has put in a good day's fishing unless he leaves a couple of flies hanging on the bushes. You can't catch fish if you don't dare go where they are.”"
"One great thing about fly fishing is that after a while nothing exists of the world but thoughts about fly fishing."
