Fallen angel second, Cassiel's brother first, Castiel is what is known as a lost cause. He doesn't teach at Arthame, but he hangs around the campus doing odd jobs like gardening and machinery maintenance. He, like his brother, has a sharp mouth, but he doesn't bother to hide it. He takes pride in making his brother swear in front of his students, but watches out for him more than anything else. They've been together since forever, so the idea of being without Cassiel scares Castiel sometimes.
Castiel has been alive for thousands of years, as a raven blessed by God, he and Cassiel roamed the Earth together, until Cassiel vanished. Alone from his brother for the first time in his life, Cassiel found himself spiraling into confusion and corruption, stealing from citizens while desperately searching for his brother. The day he found him, curled into a ball on two dead bodies, covered in sticky red, was the day Castiel knew he had to protect his brother no matter what. Sensing this, God lifted them from their bird bodies, and made them into angels.
Castiel could never be an angel. His heart was so corrupted with sin that he could never clean, that God took pity on him. He returned him to Earth with Cassiel, granting him immortality at Cassiel's begging, and they began to wander Arthame Academy together.
