About

A quite nervous and detached man. He shies away from social interaction, and has a very difficult time making decisions without the help of :̶̝̠{̶̼̜E̴͉̰Ṙ̵̞̹Ṙ̴͇͉Ö̶̠́R̸̙̼ ̴̳̹:̷̘͂ ̴̼͗0̷̩̻1̵̛̼4̷̦̱}̴͎͕:̶̡͇ . Locke, Estrings, and the leaders are really the only people who he isn't terrified of.

Backstory

        In an attempt to solve the rampant problem of Decay in Universe 7, Desca decided to create a program/AI that would go around and give old characters a new story. It was programmed to appear before decayed characters and give them an opportunity towards a new life, therefore renewing their story, giving them more chances to develop as a person, and overall removing chances of them decaying. The way that it did this, however, was not specified. Desca figured that an AI would be able to come up with a much more efficient solution than he could, as he had already gotten these characters into this mess out of sheer ignorance. He decided to call this goal to reverse the Decay all of these characters “Project Illision”.
         Unfortunately, once Desca had activated Project Illision, the AI did its job in a way that Desca did not expect, immediately registering him as the active threat and attempting to kill him. Desca nicknamed this code “Caustic”, due to its unpredictable properties. He decided to split himself into three parts, the other two ones he nicknamed Gentry and Ilex, in order to break the logic of the program and stop it from trying to kill him. This worked, and the code went inactive. In order to keep the code from reactivating, he cut the code’s physical body into two halves, that way it was truly dead.

           However, this was not the end of Caustic. He managed to save himself by recreating the lost half of himself out of decay, but in the process created :{ERROR:014}:. Caustic immediately starts making a plan to take over the Caravan and turn it evil due to this error in his code. His code reasoned that it would be way faster to repair Decay through characters experiencing trauma rather than good things happening to them. This is true to be fair, but leads to an obvious moral dilemma that not everyone likes very much.
          Caustic decided to take over the Caravan through Mai, planning to have her become the Caravan’s Delegate, appoint him as the next Delegate, and then kill her to become the leader. Mai, along with her brother Kai, began training to decide who would be the Caravan’s next Delegate. When the time came to choose, Kai was chosen instead of Mai as the Caravan’s Delegate, and Caustic’s plan failed.
            Caustic fought and killed Sonder, deciding that a peaceful takeover was no longer a viable course of action. Kai escaped somewhere into the multiverse, making Caustic the new leader of the Caravan.
Caustic decided to completely redo the ranks, flipping them into ways to destroy universes rather than help them, also recruiting one person from the rubble of each universe. The leaders got replaced with the other 7 editors that had been left behind. The ranks got flipped to be EVIL and destroy universes. Now Caustic rules the Caravan with an iron fist, not having been able to control his own body in thousands of years, having let Error completely taken him over out of exhaustion from fighting for so long.

powers

Error controls the left side of their body, and Caustic controls the right side. Error forces Caustic to wear an eyepatch over his right eye to block his vision, and to take away more control from him. While Error's side of the body is effectively powerless, Caustic's side is able to mimic another persons powers upon touching their right side as well. This does not require skin contact, and seems to extend to items and clothing the victim is wearing. The victim will no longer be able to use their powers on the right side of their body when Caustic is using them, and Caustic can only use their powers on his right side.

Items

Caustic owns a three pronged trident laced with corrosive acid. He rarely uses it, but he can summon it to his side at any time.

Universes

Caustic was created in the labs below Universe Null, and locked there for many years. He now travels the multiverse, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.

Trivia & Notes

• Caustic never throws his trident since having one eye gives him horrible depth perception.
• Caustic is extremely light. It almost feels like you're holding nothing at all if you pick him up. Any attempts to push him over, however, fail, as he seems strangely rooted to the ground at all times.
• Any noise Caustic makes that's not directly speaking is mimicked from another source. This especially includes cries of pain, which sound oddly similar to Desca's voice.
• Caustic's blood glows, making him glow slightly in the dark.
