She tries very hard to be cheerful and calm, but she gets depressed very easily. People take her calmness for granted.

As Sailor Ophiuchus, she is a little bitter, as her senshi duties require that she remain forgotten and unknown to the others. Pluto is aware of her existence, as are the other Outer senshi, but only Pluto ever openly acknowledges her existence, preferring to let people continue on the false belief that there are only twelve members of the Zodiac. She gets along well with Saturn, as they are both technically outcasts as far as senshi go, Saturn for her destructive powers and Ophiuchus for odd need to remain hidden. She would rather be out fighting along side the rest of the senshi and make friends. She resides in a place known only as the Maze.

People tend to find her eyes a little creepy. On the surface, they’re just normal blue yes, but if you look closely, they have green in them and are a little snake-like. She loves art, but hates art as a subject in school, as she prefers to be creative on her own time rather than being forced to do so.

History
Akimi herself is from the town of Omama in the Gunma prefecture in Japan, about 2 ½ hours north of Tokyo. She received a scholarship to study in Tokyo. She enjoys wearing kimono. She was badly injured in a car accident as a child and has been physically weak ever since, susceptible to illness and easily injured. She has to wear makeup to give her skin some color; otherwise, she’d resemble a walking corpse. Her love of art came from learning to apply makeup in her early years. Despite her love of art, she despises art classes at school, seeing them as being far too restrictive.

The sailor part of her soul resides in the maze. It is as if that part of her is a separate entity. Akimi isn’t even truly aware of her true nature outside of some very vivid dreams about her past on Thuban and her life as Ophiuchus in the maze. She dismisses these as just simple dreams.
